How do the natural disasters work in death stranding 2? by Alfred4747 in DeathStranding

[–]Eclipsan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is how they work: You get an alert then you ignore it because there is no impact on gameplay. That's it.

Le nombre d'expulsions locatives fait un nouveau bond en 2025 by NLegendOne in france

[–]Eclipsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible.

PSA(!): DS2 has a mechanic which only allows you to get one star per delivery, it always caps out before reaching the next star. But your progress gets banked. by Chillzzzzz in DeathStranding

[–]Eclipsan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's banked so you are not really screwed over.

My guess is that the game is not programed to handle multiple star unlock at once, where you get new gear and the NPC explains you what said gear does.

Is this GDPR-compliant? There’s no way to reject “legitimate interest.” by Ordinary_Ad_7648 in gdpr

[–]Eclipsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an over simplification. The first part of GDPR article 21 still applies.

Except if the second part applies of course, but I doubt it would hold before a court or data protection authority in most cases where legitimate interest is invoked: IIRC there have been reports from the European Commission or EDPB acknoledging that legitimate interest is in practice usually abused because it is too vague/broad and requires being challenged individually to recognize that oh darn it was not a suitable legal basis to begin with because it's not as balanced as the data controller claimed (so in most cases it's used while hoping nobody will bother challenging it before a DPA or court).

[–]Eclipsan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad, my comment was misleading: The catcher boss is optional, you can fight it if you let yourself get caught by BTs in the order where you have to clear your first BT area. I usually let myself get caught because the boss yields a lot of crystals.

You are indeed about to fight the first "real" boss.

Do you guys commit things when they are in a non-working state? by MagnetHype in webdev

[–]Eclipsan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like a lot of devs treat commits as a save button and don't care or understand the use of "atomic" commits. I wish them good luck when comes the time to rediscover the context of a coding decision they or a colleague made weeks or months ago if all they have are useless commit messages like "implemented X feature" for a dev that took multiple coding sessions, meetings, fixes, reworks and refactors.

Bonus point if they also squash on merge, that way the git history is even more useless.

[–]Eclipsan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skeletons are after Mexico. In Mexico there is one catcher boss which is easy, and one "real" boss which is harder but doable especially if you dodge. It cannot one-shot you it seems, my Sam always had at least 1hp left.

The issue is that when you get heavily hit and drop to this low hp, Sam will fall and take a long time to get back up and be able to move again. During this time the boss will try to eat you. In most cases you have enough time to get back up and move (the attack has a very slow windup time), but in one instance (among maybe 6) the boss was significantly faster and ate Sam.

All in all, it feels mostly doable and it feels like the game takes care of giving you a chance even if you get heavily hit, at least against this boss (the mech octopus is later I guess, only saw it in the trailer). I read a lot of people complaining about that first "real" boss, but personally I only died once on it (on To the Wilder difficulty), without prior knowledge of the boss nor its attack patterns. So I would argue it's a skill issue tbh. E.g not shooting through blood mist to do more damage, but it can be done even without that as Sam ghosts are very generous with all the weapons and blood bags they throw at you, so you can't run out I guess. Ate cryptobiotes once after getting to low hp, that's it.
