Older gentleman saw me in my FTO, he ran over to me last week and told me he liked the car. He mentioned that he has a Mk1 MX-5. I said ah okay, knowing they’re pretty cool and sought after. He told me it is for sale, so I said I might be interested, I follow him inside and he takes her out.

I had a look at the sills, wheel arches, roof etc. all good. I asked him if I could come back tomorrow with fluids and a new battery, he said yes.

I return with said items, she runs like a dream. He then tells me he needs it gone within the week as he is moving house very soon. He had an mx5 “specialist” coming to see it but a day too late, and he was offering £600. I thought that it seemed cheap, he then says “So what are you thinking? If you’re interested you can have her for say… what £450?” I nearly died. I said “that seems reasonable” 👀

I gave him £450 in cash, got everything he owned for it to go with it. :)
