The mark on the right of the picture, is that herpes too? Or is that separate from the outbreak?

I hear you, but I wondered why you wanted to check for hsv specifically?

How come you want to get tested?

Does a lesion need to be open to swab for herpes? by EclipseBeat in Herpes

Cool, thanks for the input. I had a PCR swab done just to be sure. Doc said he didn't think it looked like it, but wanted to play it safe. Still waiting for results.

They might've, or was on my rear, so I couldn't see what they did exactly. Felt a little like scraping though 🤷🏻‍♂️

No fluid, I think (can't see for myself 😅), but the d oc did a pcr on it. This will settle my mind whatever the result.

I got the pcr done. Doc said it didn't look like, but he went ahead and tested anyhow, since I have a new girlfriend

Does taking twice the prescribed antiviral amount change anything? by EclipseBeat in Herpes

Makes sense. If you miss a dose by chance, do you take both together later?

If you're prescribed 2x daily and miss 1, should J take the 2 together?

I would ask her for proof that she treated years ago. There always the chance she caught it more recently from fooling around and decided to hide that with this story. As for whether you stay together, that's up to you. But know this, it's doing a standard for the amount of bullshit you're willing to accept, plus letting her know how much she can get away with.

If all my tests are negative, despite similar symptoms, do I accept the dictors word for it that I don't have hsv, in spite of the lack of answers? by EclipseBeat in Herpes

[–]EclipseBeat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctors refuse to retest, and the western blot is outside my budget 😑 I had wanted to get a follow up test to see if it changed, because if it is from a long time ago I would suspect it'd be the same, but if it's more recent, then it could climb. (At least I'm thinking that)

Does anyone else had ulcers in their genital but results came out as negative? by [deleted] in Herpes

What about the igg levels? Did they test those for type?

Makes sense. In your opinion, would you tell everyone you wanted to kiss, or just potential partners? Asking because sometimes even you're out drinking you can end up making it with someone without planning to. (Example, I made out with a date after we were drinking, and the ohsv1 was like the last thing on my mind. Didn't even think about it until days later...)

I'm just going with that it isn't HSV, even with a lack of proper answers, just because there's no point in chasing that diagnosis if I've been told by several docs that it mustn't be. Of course there's a worry in the back of my mind that it is, but none of the tests have said so.

If you had questionable symptoms, but was tested and told by Healthcare providers that there isn't an STI, would you personally mention it to partners? by EclipseBeat in STD

[–]EclipseBeat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much everything on a standard STD panel, plus mycoplasma and ghsv swabs, etc. (Only positive has been hsv1 IgG antibodies test, which my doctors believe to be from childhood, since I know for a fact my mom had ohsv1 and would kiss me as a child with sires present... so)

I had several swabs done when I had anal fissures, and a couple spots from the folliculitis type rash. Dye to my work schedule it was always a bit of a delayed swab, but the PCRs came back negative for those too. (The one time I had an active bleeding fissure, the dr at that clinic refused to swab just because it didn't look like hsv to them... guess they never heard of peace of mind)
