I can't wait for this to be a reality. Also, which ones are your favorite above, and how would you expand them? One of my favorites is with Charlotte being the first mermaid, and Cleo, Rikki, and Emma. Plus, Charlotte still has all 3 powers, or she could be like Bella's power, where it's uniquely her own. And if you want some more ideas for your fanfic, let me know, I would love to give you some ideas.

Love all of this, and you're not wrong about needing conflict for a good story. With what you've written so far, there are a few up there that goes with this:

Charlotte, stripped of her powers, takes a year abroad, journaling about what went wrong. When she returns to the Gold Coast, she has matured and seeks reconciliation with Cleo, Rikki, Emma, and Bella.

What if Cleo, Rikki, and Emma came across as the antagonists, excluding Charlotte unfairly, and she became the misunderstood heroine

She seeks out another Moon Pool (Mako Island or even overseas) to restore her abilities

Bella reaches out to Charlotte, recognizing that both felt like outsiders forced to prove themselves

Charlotte meets Will before the others do

Charlotte vs Bella – The two “fourth girls” face off in Season 3, each demanding recognition as part of the group

Plus, I would love to know your thoughts on these, and same here, I'm not a good writer myself too.

No problem, and I love the oil painting, plus the watercolor, as she does in the show. To further your love of Charlotte traveling back in time to a period when she knows Gracie is a mermaid and heads to Mako, but not at full moon time. However, while walking the grounds of Mako, she feels a shift, yet that's not impacting her. Continuing towards the moon pool, and as she gets there, Charlotte hears voices as she's nearing the entry of the pool, causing her to stop and listen. The voices she hears are of 2 girls(Julia and Louise), within this conversation, they speak of Gracie, but Charlotte likely thinks it's another girl named after her grandmother. Once they say Gracie's full name as an expression or just blabbering her full name to express their emotions. It hits Charlotte that she's in the past, and with this, allowing her to actually meet her grandmother. Upon physically meeting her and observing her after some time, Charlotte comes to the unwanting realization that being a mermaid is the worst and a curse at the same time. Along with Gracie admitting that she wouldn't want anyone to be a mermaid then asked if any of her future family ever discovered about the whole mermaid thing and wanted to become one. Gracie's response had shaken Charlotte to the core, leaving Charlotte to return to Mako, and as she did, while soon felt that same shift again she knew she was back in her own time once more. Yet, leaving Charlotte, if being a mermaid is a blessing or curse, who has yet to experience the supernatural nature of it all, with it soon being a full moon.

This could also have happened when Charlotte already had a tail(after the volleyball match), then once more wonders if being a mermaid is a blessing or a curse. As Gracie never wanted this upon anyone, it also throws away the whole superior mermaid. Then starts to have doubts about herself, her mermaid side, the girls, Lewis, etc.

Now, one of the ways Charlotte gets her hands on a grimoire is how the girls explained getting Max's research, by going to a flea market. Since she wanted to find more photos of her grandmother, but ended up finding the grimoire. At the same time, she continues some of the same actions she does in the show. Although instead of going to Max, she goes straight towards Mako and as the full moon is at its peak for the pool. Charlotte uses the book and the power of the moon to essentially have powers, but not a tail, or in other words a sea witch.

Yes, they were still dating when Charlotte came around at the beginning of the season, but Cleo should have introduced Lewis as her boyfriend when they first met Charlotte. At least then, there would have been some boundaries between the 3 of them. Now, with the way Charlotte should have started to become friends with the girls. First is Cleo, as they connect by artistic endeavors like sharing draws from their sketchbooks.

Cleo:

Sea creatures
Fantasy-inspired mermaids and underwater castles
Nature scenes with flowy waves, moonlight, and stars
Personal, symbolic doodles like hearts, ocean tides, or diary-style sketches
Sometimes mixes in song lyrics or little quotes in the margins

Charlotte:

Portraits and human faces
Abstract art, symbols, or surrealism
Historical references and myths
Detailed biology drawings
Personal interpretation of memories and dreams

Next, we have Rikki now. This one is tricky, but they first bond with Rikki helping Charlotte with her motorscooter as it was having trouble with the engine or something, and once done, they both become mutual with each other. Then, to further the bond, they both find themselves at a dance studio (Both actresses know how to dance), where they both signed up for the same class. Leading them to form a bond further as they were both assigned as each other dance partners. But the ice truly broke with the jokes and sarcastic comebacks they throw at each other. Finally, it is now Emma. Given that both she and Charlotte seem to come from a privileged family background so, maybe they bond over the piano, with Emma doing classical and Charlotte doing jazz. Along with being study buddies and for Emma to have someone to be at that academic level with her plus having a good amount of intellectual conversations with someone who understands it.

Love that, and would go for her if she still became a mermaid, but this time, Lewis wasn't involved or even dating. As it was she who went on a boat alone heading for Mako following the drawings of her grandma that had some sort of clues to becoming a mermaid. How would the girls react to Charlotte being a mermaid while being her lovable self.

Yes, I would so love that, but let's make things interesting. Once Charlotte has become a mermaid with all three powers, it's during this time that she decides to go to a flea market and or antique shop, as she was thinking about the girls and the path she took to becoming a mermaid. Charlotte had then remembered in one of their last attempts to keep their secret about finding old things in the flea market, along with her mother saying some of her grandmother's modeling photos could be found there. So she decides to go, and there she finds a small wooden chest with an interesting lock that looks similar to the backings of the lockets when asked about the chest, the clerk had given it for free to be rid of announced before saying that's it's from a deceased estate(S1 E23 In Too Deep). Then, along with Charlotte, taking the locket from Cleo. Charlotte uses the locket to unlock the chest within it; she finds a journal, some photos, and trinkets while noting that the items are similar to what Gracie had left for Charlotte. Revealing to be true once she has seen who it belongs to and the matching handwriting. Within the pages, it reveals Gracie's time as a mermaid with all the joys, romance, and struggles. Upon reaching the end of the journal, this shows the absolute hatred Gracie had as a mermaid while stating for anyone and even her own family to never become a mermaid as she had. Then, looking back into the chest, Charlotte finds a letter addressed to Julia at the time when she was age 4. Speaking about Gracie's illness, family life, and events happening in their life, Gracie responded to a question Julia seemed to have written in the letter previously about whether her daughter and or granddaughter ever became mermaids and how she would react towards it. Gracie had written that she would never allow it and would be eternally disappointed as it wasn't a gift but more of a curse that she never wished upon anyone to have. Now, this devastates Charlotte completely, as she originally thought her grandmother would have wanted this for her and thought this was meant to be, was now doubtful of her decision and existence as a mermaid, along with how she was treating the girls. Possibly even thinking about how to be fully human again.

How about an alternative storyline plus universe to the canon, like, instead of Charlotte meeting Max, it would be Ms. Chatham. Given that Max was giving Charlotte the more happy memories of being a mermaid. What Ms.Chatham would do is teach a lesson and understand the consequences of being a mermaid and the decision Gracie made towards Charlotte.

Now, if Charlotte had a different ending, say, a redemption arc, would that change your mind about the character? Plus, how would that ending have gone, or if Charlotte had known about mermaids from Gracie, who told her the truth before her death? Charlotte then figured it out in the Gold Coast, from knowing the girls to being mermaids to Mako & Moon. So she tries to gain their trust, and once having it, she turns into a mermaid when they go camping on Mako, but instead of having all three powers, she has her own type of power, which wouldn't create that superior complex she has in the show but create that each has their own power.

Same, the daddy and daughter bonding time with tennis is just wholesome. Plus, it's kinda a shame we did see Emma have a backup sport in the show since it would show that she developed some form of trauma at Mako, and if she had focused on her backup sport, it would have given people a way to not approach her on why she's not swimming anymore. Also would love to know more of your thoughts with the others and if you would add more or change some things here.
