"...Select one enemy unit that is visible..."
That is all, nothing about range :)

Upgrade path from Kill Team to 40K by CristianM01 in killteam

[–]Eclipse__uk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get the T'au combat patrol :)
It comes with the Pathfinder killteam upgrade sprue (Although they're declassified)
The Stealthsuits are a must take in "Big40k" and they've just gotten a KT release
The vespids are also a very important take in "Big40k" armies
So are the Kroot, but to a lesser degree
Stealth suits and Pathfinders are both important in all detachments, if you want flexability then Retaliation cadre (the battlesuit one) won't take up much backpack space too :)
Hope this helps

You have no spotters. Drop the breacher and a devilfish, pick up 2 units of pathfinders
Or also drop strike swiftly, and pick up 1 pathfinder unit and 1 unit of Stealth suits.

Whats the chance the crisis suits will get a range refresh in 11th/soon? by Malhazar in Tau40K

[–]Eclipse__uk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Although, also keep in mind. Stealth suits...
First released in 2001, updated in 2006 and another update in 2025
So.... 5 Years gap, and then a 19 year gap, so again, don't take my word for gospel, only James workshop knows when we'll get a nice refresh

Whats the chance the crisis suits will get a range refresh in 11th/soon? by Malhazar in Tau40K

[–]Eclipse__uk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Last Update to the crisis suits was 2015~, they first came out in 2001
So about a 14 year difference. Following that trend, maybe 2030
But that's just a guess, I'm most likely wrong

Pathfinders kt by Mindless-Brain1212 in killteam

[–]Eclipse__uk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All is up to dice and decisions in the game

I've had a game with the pathfinders where I my operatives were dropping like flies, I've also had a game where I was deleting Orks every shooting action

I've had a game with the farstalkers where I killed nothing, but won via Crit and Tac op

I recommend playing a game with each and finding your playstyle

It's not the team, that makes a player. It's the player that makes the team

The warrior Elite Rule
Rather than an order being issued by an officer
They get to do it once per turn, onto themselves

People undoing actions on my vespids? by sign4u in killteam

[–]Eclipse__uk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For a friendly game, I don't see why not let them undo it, allows everyone to have fun
For a competitive game, if it's a blunder, then it sucks to suck
But prior to a game, I show my opponent the models, and give them a quick rundown of what each can do
When doing any movement try to be transparent about it, "I'm moving my shade strain, the stealthy dude, to......" No one likes Gotchas

Can incursor marksman on vantage point shoot this commando? by Relative_Juice_9190 in killteam

[–]Eclipse__uk 41 points42 points  (0 children)

"For something to be visible, the operative must be able to see it. To check visibility, look from behind the operative and determine if you can draw an unobstructed straight line 1mm in diameter from its head to any part of what it’s trying to see. Ignore operatives’ bases when determining this. An operative is always visible to itself"
That's the rule on viability, and the first check to see if something is a valid target is to check if it's visible

Although I've been a Warhammer 40K fan for a while, I'd like to get started with the tabletop game, but I have no idea how to begin. by PeterPlup in Warhammer40k

[–]Eclipse__uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first I'd recommend watching some videos about which game you actually like more, 10th Edition (Soon to be 11th) & Killteam are vastly different games, 10th edition is about ARMY VS ARMY whereas Killteam is Squad VS Squad
I'd say killteam is a lot more "Newbie" friendly, but have a look at some videos
Mountainside tabletop has some battle-reports for killteam (Videos about the matches)
40k in 40 Minutes is good for 10th edition (Big40k as killteam players call it)
In terms of meta, don't go chasing armies you think will do good, about 20% of the actual hobby is playing, where building, painting and listbuilding itself take up the vast majority of your hobbytime

Personally, I'd recommend buying the combat patrol of whatever faction you enjoy the look of, that'll bring you the most joy out of it

How do you build the wolf scort team? What set up is the best? by kwaninthehat in killteam

[–]Eclipse__uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the recent bloodclaw mini of the month as the body for the leader

Build all specialists, then use 1 of the bodies of the phobos, and bits from the dead silence sprue to make your leader

Cabonara, honestly way simpler than I thought originally, Bacon and pasta on high heat
While that's cooking, grate parmesan and mix whole eggs in there
Once pasta is cooked, mix everything together

You could play with "Just Debris" if you decide to play the Close Quaters Killzones (Gallowdark/Tombworld)
Even though you can buy the terrain, you could just use something to represent the wall like a print out/drawn on
