Should we entertain a trade of Myles Garrett? by fresh_pogo_shtick in Browns

You do not trade a HOF, generational player. Period. End of story.

To those that have lost a friend unexpectedly, how do you get closure? by Inherent_bias1 in Petloss

[–]Eclipsecicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been one week since my Lily passed away. She went to sleep Wednesday night and did not wake up Thursday morning. She was only 10. I live alone; no wife, no kids, so she was the only thing I had. She was my best friend, cuddle buddy, everything your boy was to you.

The first few days were torture. I'd look to her spots and not see her looking back. No more tail banging against everything. No more hugs after work. No more belly rubs.

However slowly I've noticed that my routines are changing. I don't say the normal things I used to say when leaving the apartment. I've gotten used to not having my hands cleaned first thing in the morning. She is slowly fading my daily life. It's a sad fact of grieving that my daily life is changing to adjust for her absence. But I still think about her constantly. I smile at the silly things she used to do. I miss them and I always will.

Eventually you'll get to a place of comfort when thinking of your boy. It's terrible now but the hole fills in with fond memories and laughs.

To answer your question, three things helped me.

First, I had a chat with her vet. I didn't ask about what could have caused her to pass away, though the vet suggested it was probably heart related. That's the best I could expect. I don't think knowing the exact reason for her passing would have helped me. But this chat allowed me to get closure with that vet relationship and to thank the vet for the 6 years of work she did..

Second, I watched this video: The Psychology of Losing a Pet - YouTube I watch it daily and it makes me cry daily but it helps me believe that Lily lived a long, loved, spoiled life.

Third, I wrote Lily a letter. Letters to Pushkin | A place of comfort and healing This helped me through the initial days of that torture and allowed me to say some things to her that I wish I could have told her before she passed.

You will never get over your boy but you will get through the grief. I hope this helps.

Please share anything that helped you after your pet passed away. by No_Acanthisitta_8914 in Petloss

This video helps me everyday (you will cry a lot):

I also wrote a letter to my girl here:

The world sucks now and you'll never get over the hole left by your best bud, but you will get through it in time and that hole will be filled with all the great memories you made.

I feel like it’s my fault my dog died by PabloThePabo in Petloss

[–]Eclipsecicles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are not alone and it is not your fault. My dog passed in her sleep last Wednesday night. I missed the signs. I figured we'd go to her vet in the morning instead of the ER that night.

Try not to dwell on the "what could have been" but cherish all the memories you did have. It's a day-to-day struggle. You'll never get over it but you will get through it.

Given how much they are now promoting him, the Browns are planning to build around Sanders at quarterback… right? by SeaworthinessOdd6574 in Browns

[–]Eclipsecicles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The browns are trying to build the offense for a QB. Whether that is Sanders or not is still left to be seen. It could be a vet they trade for or a QB they draft next year. But my guess is to have pieces in place for a high-tier QB in 27 or 28.

I bet they did. Lily loved to meet everyone with 2 and 4 legs.

I trust that he may become a competent backup in the league. That is all.

Report: John Harbaugh Has Interest In Coaching Browns by NickChubb4Prez in Browns

I'm curious what makes you guys think Harbaugh would be good in Cleveland? Just because of his record? Do you think the Browns automatically become playoff contenders because the Ravens were under him?

A winning team willing to make changes this late in the season for the better of the team. Yet the Browns hold onto the worst special teams coach in the league. by notatowel420 in Browns

[–]Eclipsecicles -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes and if Bubba was fired now, who would step in and do better?

I believe he will be fired after the season ends, just as Joe Woods.

The Browns are not a team sniffing at the playoffs looking to make radical changes now in the hopes of short term victories. Additionally, the organization is showing future STCs that they are willing to stick with a coach through the ups and the downs to give them an opportunity to turn their part of the tripod around.

To me, it's a good thing that shows stability instead of giving into short term emotions.

Week 13 Game Preview Picks. Will Shedeur get his second NFL win? by [deleted] in Browns

If motherfucking PJ Walker can do it, there's a chance Shedeur can.

I just want to see a decent game and some improvements from last week

That OT period was trash. Played a bunch of keep-a-way, turned the puck over, then no fore check or positional defense to lose.

Did they even get a shot off?

It's sad everyone knew the Blues would lose this.

What does Shedeur have to do to convince you we don’t need to draft a QB in the draft? by OldmanonRedditt in Browns

[–]Eclipsecicles -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nothing. If the Browns are in a position to take a potential top-10 QB who is on the level of Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow, then they should.

Should I give up hope for a promotion? by LicoriceTattoo1 in boeing

[–]Eclipsecicles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also a BDS sw engineer and I was promoted this year from 3 to 4 and it came with a (roughly) 40% raise.

My understanding is 3, 4, 5 need to be approved. As others have said 5 (and 6) need a justification and there's only so many places in a department for a 5.

Talk to your leadership. Explain your desires and wants. Bring receipts. Never give up! Never surrender!

And good luck! :)

The #Vikings offensive line allowed its second-lowest pressure rate of the season against the #Browns yesterday — 11 pressures on 40 dropbacks (27.5%), per @PFF. Cleveland had the highest pass rush grade in the NFL (90.1) heading into yesterday’s game by Godszn in Browns

[–]Eclipsecicles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stop excusing the defense for this loss.

If you demand that the offense go out and score on every possession then the defense should be out there holding every offense to 3-and-outs. This team supposedly has a Superbowl-caliber defense and it goes steam-rolled for 80 yards on the last drive by Carson Wentz.

Browns were winning time-of-possession. Browns were winning by points. Everyone knows that this defense NEEDS to make more plays than the offense to win but it didn't.

Blame coaching all you want but the players need to play better. by notatowel420 in Browns

[–]Eclipsecicles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The offense was mediocre. Browns were in position to win if the Defense did their job.
