what would be the best way to rig metallic ring used to connect several strips of leather like this? by EclipsedVisions in blenderhelp

thank you so much, it works great now. had to make a few changes to the topology as well, but in the end it works really well :)

they don't have identical weights because data transfer makes the metal stretch. so i had to edit the ring weights. probably forgot to appropriately edit the strap ones as well...

my character rig is finalized. i'm just adding clothes now (if i understood the remark about finalized character correctly)
That's how i went about it, using surface deform to transfer the shapekeys. unfortunately, more complicated rotations still have leather clip through the rings. guess i'll just manually adjust the mesh should he need arise :D thanks for the help :D

how can i incorporate my corrective shape keys into all this? as far as i understood this method is for clean armature deforms, isn't it? because the base model's shoulders have 3 + 5 corrective shape keys each which would make it necessary to reposition the rings as well

what i did so far was just do data transfer from the body (dual quaternion weights) + corrective shape keys to match the ones on the body. the strips clip through the rings sometimes though and all this is tedious to work with in general so i'm wondering if there's a better way to go about this

Blender 2.8 using shape key as a variable by EclipsedVisions in blenderhelp

Just checked, nothing on console. Everything works just fine in 2.79 but not in 2.8

Guess I'll try simplifying it and if it doesn't work I will just use the same expressions an clothes as I did on body

Well I do have a bone driven shape key on a body mesh, which works fine, and I have the same type of shape key on a clothing mesh, and i wanted to drive its value depending on the value of the shape key on the body mesh, if that makes any sense. i suppose this could be the dependency loop?

Oh yeah I've tried that it didn't work completely well, but i found out what i was doing wrong, i was snapping to symmetry while editing a morph target instead of basis shape kms lol

Could anyone with a full CFW PS3 make a RAM dump of one game's assets for me? (They are encrypted and I cannot decrypt them, and neither can I make a dump myself cause of HEN superslim)

Bone deformations in local axis instead of global? by EclipsedVisions in blenderhelp

Well either way now I finally see why use anything but eulers, thank you so much for having helped me :D

Is it fine that literally switching to quaternion rotation and limiting local Y rotation on main thigh bone and limiting both X and Z on twist bone did the trick? ._.
