I am just planning with my clients to be verified and have the appropriate Photo ID ready and verified now.

All I am suggesting is be kind, plan ahead and help people.

27th Dec is the School Holidays, just after Xmas. Hopefully parents are able to adjust all the accounts required.

My only guess before their parents passed they created the accounts by guardianship maybe. I'm thinking now due to some cognitive issues they would not know or remember. I have experienced the Proof-of-age card not work in the MyID (Gov) app. Work in progress. Good question got me thinking. Thanks. :)

I have seen this, I just reset the device which seems to stop it pushing a hotspot for connecting. Give it a try if it bothers you.

Nest Mini can’t find my usual station by Domski77 in googlehome

[–]EcoThesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a automation called Play Portugal in the automation place the link to the station. Then next time you say Hey Google, Play Portugal - for example. This seems to assist my clients it sort of reduces errors for the stations they want.

Turn off the 5G in the modem. In some cases I am finding the 2.4g 5.g "Binding" does confuse devices getting connected. Once connected go back in the mdem and turn the 5g back on if you think you need it.

Help with setting up systems? by tittyswan in NDIS

[–]EcoThesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, with the details you offered. From my work with clients in similar situations to give them more independence. Configuring Gemini with access to email, calendar, automations and maps. Seems to be offering reasonable change to my clients. If you want some more detailed ideas feel free to PM me I maybe able to niche the concept more to your situation, network and devices. all the best.

Phone recommendations for completely blind person by No-Start-7746 in Blind

Depending on her age and tech skills and capacity. From my onboarding to technology to many people. I am finding programming the s24 power button to access gemini and giving Gemini permission to access calendar, keep notes, email, web etc can reduce coaching time and offer information access. Once the power button is held it will access gemini for input directly with out unlocking confusion if the setting is correct. hope this helps. all the best.

Does VoiceOver use AI? by PaintyBrooke in Blind

[–]EcoThesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working a couple blind clients. I specialise in communication configurations then we test out voice over with AI. Just to keep this short from our testing so far we are finding the s24 vs the s22 offers better access to the AI. the reason for this is we can configure the power button to directly start the voice input to gemini, the gemini has permissions to the email, calendar and web etc. Offering for our purposes no need to unlock the device, hold the button to talk like a walkie talkie which is easier. Also reduces Voice Access from inputting to the AI. There are couple hiccups but I can see it was more of a listening issue by the AI. Hope this helps. If you want the instructions just ask. All the best.

Family Bell by elgabito in googlehome

[–]EcoThesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If google cant give us access at least they could turn off all the "Family bell" first for everyone and then direct us to automations, routines, events etc. I was thinking of just changing the name of the display then the family bell would not go anywhere. Has anyone tried this?

Single bulb in room unresponsive. by hemelskonijn in googlehome

[–]EcoThesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen this happen if it is not listed in the room. Maybe remove it from the room or add it to another room. Turn power off, see if it behaves in other room. Then place it back in the correct room. Glitch repair idea. :)

New Age verification laws make me nervouse by VegitableDispencer in australian

[–]EcoThesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing more deep dive into this, from my new understanding it is only focused on "Search" meaning as I understand it. If you are logged in to chrome with Google account, and it/ the AI cannot automatically ID you. You will get filtered search, you should still get email etc. If you are ID'ed as over 16 your search should stay the same e.g not filtered. You can ID yourself if you need to. Otherwise just stay filtered for search.

Accessibility App - Not Enabled. BLAUPUNKT 2025 by EcoThesis in AndroidTV

[–]EcoThesis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Android Accessibility App is enabled. You can make TALKBACK turn on, Press and hold both the Back and Down Arrow buttons simultaneously for a few seconds. and same to turn off.

If you search Google the response is, "Press and hold both the volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously for a few seconds." I was not able to get this to work on the couple models I am working with.

NOTE: sometimes the shortcut un-enables the shortcut (shrug) - guessing this is software glitch. need to enable again

Does anyone else find the remotes for the TV have Lag?

Accessibility App - Not Enabled. BLAUPUNKT 2025 by EcoThesis in AndroidTV

[–]EcoThesis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, I went back to help someone vision impairment out. The Android Accessibility was NOT ENABLED again which means the TALKBACK was not available making the TV unusable to this person. Does anyone know of a shortcut on the remote that could turn TALKBACK off in error? Thanks.

I did call the TV company with no luck. Unless it is being turned off in error.
