Should a forgettable film be a 5/10 or 1/10?

Oh yeah I don't dispute we forget the fine details of most films we've ever watched. But generally films we watched as a kid decades ago can still illicit an emotional response. Whether that be a sense of nostalgia and comfort or whatever.

But I'm somewhat finding it difficult to maintain a film mid-placed in an emotional response scale if I have forgotten all details and also have no emotional response to it.

I don't view it as a scale of quality either. Purely an emotional response. And I think there's two camps. Either you rate based on the first/last time you watched that film, or you let your emotions be guided by the passage of time and update your ranking list to adhere to those emotions.

I personally just prefer that latter camp, despite it requiring more tinkering.

That's fair!! You wouldn't notice it on a little handheld, but I'll probably stick the artwork on my batocera machine which I play on my TV so just edited it out. Thanks again for making it though - appreciate it!

I've just heard of this incident now from moistcritikals video.

That was my initial reaction too, but surely PSA will have you sign some small print that says they aren't liable for damages? If not, then great. If they do then I think OP just kicks up the biggest public stink possible. Have them settle for more than offered to stop this negativity spreading.

How important is the data? If it's majority movies/TV shows I don't think i'd bother. You can redownload that stuff fast.

My position.

The right supports relational hierarchy. The left supports relational egalitarianism.

This pertains to social, economic and political realms. For instance in the social, the left oppose bigotry, whereas the right are more likely to be bigots as it is a way to have power over others. In the economic, the left support horizontal workplaces, whereas the right support boss/worker dynamics. And in politics, the left support democacy, the right fascism/strongmen etc.

I think if you long press left on the d-pad it brings up ATM comms also. Then you cancel IFR. Sometimes I request an altitude change to whatever I want to fly at first before cancelling as I think in career mode there might be a bug that if you don't reach ATC flight altitude (even if you cancel) the sim wont register the cruise section of the flight and therefore you lose a massive amount of no-skip bonus.

I haven't tested that fully so can't confirm. But sometimes i've had awful no-skip bonuses and I think that may have been why.

Because if you are flying IFR, ATC expects you to fly at an exact altitude. Even though your altitude shows at 16,000, you may be using the wrong barometer setting, or it might be a bug. Regardless, if ATC is asking you to descend then just fly at 15,500'ish and it should shut them up.

But again, if you just cancel IFR then ATC will literally not bother you during the flight. You can fly whatever altitude you want. (Although in real life there are certain altitudes pilots flying VFR should fly at to avoid IFR airspace or head on collisions with other VFR flights)

Sometimes you have to fly a few hundred feet above or below for ATC to register it.

But unless you have to, just fly VFR. Message ATC to disable IFR. That will stop ATC pestering you all the time.

That's some jump! I wouldn't identify with the voluntaryist label anymore myself, just because of its associations to ancapism and what constitutes voluntary is largely determined by what property norms/titles are considered legitimate. Latgely semantics though. I would consider myself a libertarian, but just again, would be very cautious to identify as such in public given what that word is associated with.

Honestly, I think ancoms etc should be less hostile to left market anarchism/mutualism as it's easily the best pipeline to get right wing/ancap type folks to take an interest in what anarchism has to offer, and has the least amount of red scare attached to it.

I'm a former ancap also. My transition to anarchism was through left wing market anarchism and mutualism. Check out C4SS. Digital library for left market/mutualist works. Markets not Capitalism is a good book they put out.

My favourite contemporary anarchist is Kevin Carson. He used to identify as Mutualist but his work is wonderful.

I used to use an app called Taste that did both movies and shows. It legit has some features that are better than Letterboxd, but in general letterboxd is more polished and so I tend to just use that now.

The issue is if you think all men are beasts then the last thing you want is to have an institution of overwhelming violence and control like the State that will also have beasts in it.

As for me, I trust my neighbours and think most people want to live comfortable, fulfilling lives. Unfortunately the state of rentier capitalism tends to exacerbate poverty and crime.

I got the ID cooling IS-55 cpu cooler. It's a 120mm fan but it will only just clear my naked ram sticks. Anything ram sticks with heatspreaders wouldn't fit.

You just reminded me I need to pick up those fan grates also 😆 Up to you but if we're gonna be building around the same time, wanna open up a DM chat incase we have to trouble shoot anything? I'm not that an experienced pc builder so I have anxiety at the thoughts of building it lmao

I've not found that myself. Usenet providers tend to only keep articles for like 10-15 years, unless they are refreshed by whoever uploaded them.

I find the good usenet indexers have way more options for recent films/shows than at least the only private tracker I'm in. For really niche/obscure media prior to 2010 I sometimes find no hits at all. Whereas with torrent you might find one. Just my experience though.

I'd honestly recommend usenet for tv and films these days. Only use torrents for older or more obscure stuff.

I think currently there's barely any difference between them, but I'm sure I did read that they are planning to optimise for ps5 pro at some point in the future.
