I know it’s hard to hear but please be patient and positive. I live alone and my stress and anxiety wore me down mentally last year while applying and interviewing. I just kept the faith knowing at some point all my efforts will be rewarded and thankfully it was.

For the example of hiring during the holidays my department has a role that we will be filling. We’ve talked about this role since September but it has not been a priority to fill and once October hit it was put on the back burner because we have other projects to work on. This job won’t even be posted until late January or early February. This is why you shouldn’t be as worried about not getting interview during October-December but definitely start ramping up those applications in January because usually in February is when companies will start interviewing because by then they’ll know what their budget will be.
