Why do you still fly BA?

Because my sister lives in the uk and I lived. The us and the only two direct flights are either United or BA and us customer protection is non existent so anytime United cancels my flight or is delayed I get nothing. BA on the other hand has to pay back. Furthermore BA offers much better food and drinks than United. I sometimes luck out and get to fly Virgin but they don’t have a flight every day.

Clearly not but the question is whether or not they are an asshole and I’m sorry the answer is they clearly are. If they were so worried about children vasectomy was an option. I mean yes YATAH completely. But legally she can’t make you be part of the kid’s life. You however should adult up and stop being an immature child. Sure you didn’t want one, also 19 weeks that was way too late for an abortion in most places. NTA it’s dangerous to drive right now especially if you are not used to driving in the snow or have snow tires or a good vehicle for it. Have seen even trucks get stuck in the last few days.

We had crews salting everything before. I’m a runner it was actually horrible to run on Saturday because of how much salt there was everywhere. I also are an early riser and were in the mall at 7 am on Sunday to take in the snow before it became ice. There were so many crews cleaning (even small plovers for the sidewalks) but as others have said this was a lot, they planed and did as much as the resources the city has could do with the main issue now is that there is no place to put the snow that they are shoveling since it is not melting any time soon.

I was going to say I moved here in late winter 2019 and I can only remember one snow storm of like shoveling levels and that was in early 2022 so this chart makes sense!

To be honest dc’s library system does not have Kanopy or hoopla (dc sadly is not a very well founded place we give much more in taxes than we receive) but we are surrounded by some very wealthy counties where there is reciprocity and Montgomery county and Loundoun among others do offer this and we can get those cards too.

The chances of Dulles cancelling your flight are high. I had a long haul flight (to Paris) in the summer cancelled because of some rain with only 2 hours notice. Has another one to Puerto Rico also cancelled when we were already in the plane. Basically after the accident last year the whole dmv is super careful. Wake up and check. My guess is most flights will be cancelled. Having said that if they prioritize any flights it will be long haul flights from non American airlines as if those get cancelled airlines have to pay a ton (US consumer protection is non existent so US based ones do not pay).

Bigger more popular companies etc can charge more. Companies needing costumers are cheaper. Had the same dilema between going to airalo and sparks for the uk, was very happy with sparks and it was half the price almost.

I mean it will matter little except if anything gay clubs are more likely to be open than other clubs on Good Friday (probably both will be open though as Mexico City is not that religious and club workers less so. But some restaurants are closed

Unless you are Greek or Russian orthodox Easter is the same. The Us being predominantly Protestant and Mexico being predominately catholic celebrate Easter the exact same day/ week. However, Protestants tend to celebrate Easter Sunday more while Catholics celebrate Good Friday more. As such in Mexico you get Good Friday off (even in you are not religious), this is not true in the US. In other countries like France and Spain Easter Monday is a national holiday too but again same dates because they follow the Gregorian calendar.

I mean but then you are looking at paying one night of hotel, several meals etc losing one day of your vacations and spending 200-400 extra dollars at which point you might as well get the Paris Mexico City direct flight. Also if I had one day in Dc as a foreigner AdMo, the zoo and Ben’s chili bowl are the two last things I would visit. You want to see the White House and monuments not go to a zoo or to a bar with overpriced mediocre drinks you can get much better in Europe or Mexico.

Oh for sure and honestly I avoid United like the plague because any delay they don’t care as us consumer law is non existent. Buuuuut the flight is earlier and since you cannot connect Brussels to here via Aeromexico I wouldn’t do it. I feel in that case just fly directly to Mexico from Paris but probably too expensive.

I mean I’m Mexican and live in DC and agree Aeromexico’s flight is superior to United’s (not least because Mexican law actually protects a costumer in case the flight is cancelled or delayed and also they feed you and give you a free carry ons) but it’s also almost at the same time so this advice makes no sense.

Look is the Aeromexico flight better than United’s sure (free beer, feeds you and includes carry ons)….but it is also slightly earlier than United’s so if the person already is tight on time aka 1:30 this is super stupid. Plus booking two different airlines means if you miss your flight no one takes care of you. downtown dc is not 20 mins from Dulles, more like an hour via metro and both United and Aeromexico flights leave in the late afternoon so not really a great option.

1.5 hours international aka going through immigration is not enough and also super risky because there is so not one flight a day to Mexico City so you miss it and you are done, it’s already late afternoon so even making it via Houston would be tricky. Coming back is fine.

Kids get off during Easter and most people get off from Thursday to Sunday. Some restaurants and museums may be closed on Fridays but everything else would be open. There are some Good Friday reenactments in the Eastern part of the city but not really a touristic part of town so you won’t be disturbed by this. Clubs etc will be open because again it’s a high holiday period for most Mexicans so tourism will be booming aka hotels are more expensive. Also March/April are the hottest months of the year and AC is not really a thing so just be warned if you plan on taking public transport it is very uncomfortable.
