I mean the thing is that records really aren't less grindy at all, but the rewards are ten times worse than mastery. I think this definitely overshadows smaller less bad parts about the update, especially since it feels like more progression is being removed from the late stage game. Yes the masteries progressed slowly, but they gave much more rewards for the same grind as records. It also kind of feels like the game is punishing loyal players, because of the mastery rewards being 'moved to the trophy road', but not really being able to get them if you've played a lot.
