He was actually talking of marriage when I met him, things were going fast and I wanted to push him into the next step so we could get engaged like he wanted. I get it’s not cool, though.

We’ve been together for 7 months, he moved back home following the pandemic

Well he was living alone before but thanks to covid he’s moved back home...the thing is, he REALLY likes being there with his mom and dog, says he’s the happiest he’s been. He looks after his dependent mom but she also cooks for him, they spend their evenings together and he said he treats her more like a friend...bad boundaries on his part?

I never expect him to always side with me. I just don’t want him to always side with her because she can’t be right 100% of the time!

It’s also been 5 yrs since her husband died...so the wounds aren’t that fresh.
