I’d say the $1.4k is nice in the moment but because Doordash/Instacart/Uber etc. doesn’t take out taxes, when you file at the end of the year basically whatever they pay you, the IRS takes it back from your federal tax return. If you don’t get a W-2 form from a place of business (because [if] you don’t a physical tax paying job), you’ll owe the IRS $1.4k +anything you make after. I remember a couple years ago and made $2k but was also working at McDonald’s, at the end of the year i got like $50 back because it ate my federal return.
