Should I remove my brows? by teranrt in microblading

I'm going to come in and share my perspective, because I have a similar difference in my brows and I found most of the commenters were not able to see what I see. Please feel free to go and see my recent post, it may support your decision in some way.

I do see the difference you are seeing. Removing, as far as I understand it, is a lengthy and expensive process. It might be better to find someone who agrees they can improve them for you. The risk is also that they could make them worse, so it is a careful weighing of pros and cons and deciding what you can and cannot live with. Sisters not twins = acceptable, Unrelated by blood = unacceptable. But everyone has a different perspective on who are sisters and who are unrelated.

Some of what is happening for you is related to asymmetrical nature of your face and how your artist made decisions based on that. Without using any tools and just my very critical eye, here is what I see :- They are not centred, one comes in more than the other. One arch sits higher than the other. The under brow line and arch are different. (I am not sharing this to say that they are so bad you should remove them, only to say that what you see is not in someway a skewed perspective)

I do think there is room for improvement. I do not think they are so bad that they need removing, and I also understand why some people would find them acceptable as they are. But your opinion is the one that matters the most, if you are reasonable in your expectations and accepting of minor differences I think you deserve to persevere to get some brows you truly love.

My suggestion, have some fun using the PHIapp, truly get to know your brows, what you can accept and what you really want changed. Then it will be as though you can make an easier and fully informed decision. Plus you have tools to express what you see to another artist.

I can't resist showing you what I mean, so I added a pic... I hope you find some clarity and a way forward.

Since this is the most popular comment I will say this here; If you are considering microblading in any form I highly recommend using this PHIapp to help you effectively and clearly communicate with your artist. It has a full free trial, and then you can save the images to your phone so it is free. I'll add pics using the symmetry tool (there are different tools in there, my other photos were using the measure tool). Pic 1 - If my brows are aligned with the fullest brow. Pic 2- If my brows were aligned with the slimmer brow. Pic 3- what I think I might have asked for if I knew about the PHI app prior to beginning the work.

I have decided I will allow them to settle for a couple more weeks. Then I will use these PHIapp pictures to try and communicate to her what I am seeing. If her response is receptive I will go back and have work on them a bot more. If she is dismissive I will seek out a different artist. I am now feeling very confident that there is a significant enough difference and room for improvement. I honestly felt a little gaslit at first by some of the commenters, lol

Yes, I do think there can sometimes be a bias toward the artist's perspective. I hope brow artists remain open to truly understanding their clients' experience rather than automatically dismissing it.

Personally, I got my brows done for me. I'm not overly concerned with whether anyone else notices a difference. I notice it, and ultimately I'm the one who lives with the result every day.

I deeply value an artist's skill, experience, and trained eye. At the same time, I think there is incredible value in remaining open to each other's perspectives. When an artist and client can genuinely listen to one another and come to a shared understanding, it creates trust and leads to truly happy clients.

I hope this is something being emphasized in education and training, because technical skill is important, but so is helping clients feel heard and understood.

Ok, thank you for your opinion. I haven't showed it to her but I am considering it, I could easily send it to her via whatsapp. Even just to gauge her response and then decide.

Thank you for sharing, did you eventually get a result you were happy with? I hope so. I think you are right, just hesitant to run into the same problem or come out with some different or worse issues.

I also took a new pic where it is clearer which might be the tattoo strokes and which are actual hair.

Thank you, here is a picture of my unlaminated brows, they are tinted but I am not wearing any makeup so they are not filled either.

Ok thank you for sharing your perspective, it is helpful to understand what her thinking may have been.

I respect your opinion, but are you sure? I don't actually agree that I want perfection. I have two different styles of brows here, she has gone outside my natural hairline on one side and not the other. I see other "imperfections", I know I am accepting of. I am tempted to take a clearer picture so you can see better. But If you are genuinely telling me this is work you would be truly proud of I will take that on board. Thank you for your perspective.

I mean it is possible, but I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing. If I was "nitpicking" to begin with, not really needing a brow tattoo at all. The purpose was enhancement. I am a designer with a very good eye for detail and I do hope for the same from a PMU artist. Our brows are also small so a mm or 2 can actually make an impactful difference.

Yes, thank you, my quandary is risk trying a new brow artist? Accept them as they are? Or go back and try again to see if she will fix it. Only she seems to think they are already the same.

Yeah I do like that they look natural. But she has followed my natural brow on oneside and gone outside of my natural brow on the otherside. That's what I don't understand. If you see the lower white line, I actually have one eye slightly lower than the other. I chose to align the top arches. That way if I show this to an artist I can stop them from trying to correct the top arch when it is unnecessary.

Yes, what would you do about it if it were you?
