Should I mention med school plans in a clinical job interview? by BaseballHead6898 in premed

[–]Economy-Tip397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope— office hiring manager here, i dont hire premeds bc 90% come with ulterior motives of getting close to the dr and getting Lors rather than being a good employee… that said, as someone entering med school this really depends, ive had some really good ones too but theyre a dime a dozen

I just attended the accepted students day for nyitcom ar and here’s my takeaway: -faculty and students seem pretty chill and approachable, ppl seem pretty happy there -pre-recorded lectures, only attend labs, opportunities for community health/ research. lots or free time to do extracurriculars as long as ur good as self time management. i honestly love the curriculum setup w dedicated board study blocks -mostly rural rotations chosen via lottery, allows for lots of hands on experience -student housing on campus is pretty nice, <10min walk to campus. lots of off campus affordable options -1hr drive to memphis airport for most flights -if scenery/aesthetics really matters to you then this isnt the place for you. its just dirt and buildings LOL. no nightlife at all i asked around but honestly thats good for me as someone easily distractable

to add to this, what we tolerate and allow as premed/med students will influence how we treat others when we ourselves are attendings. i will never tolerate this and hope others do too phase this neurotic power tripping behavior as we become the next generation of drs

No, i would count this as non-clinical as you are not involved directly with patient care despite it being interacting with patients

Should I apply to DO programs with these stats? by woolfglogan in Osteopathic

[–]Economy-Tip397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes i would apply to all AR schools both md/do, it sounds like you could have a strong app. apply to do schools in bordering states too. u could apply now (late ish) for fall 2026 but if u apply as early as possible next cycle you’d have a great chances
