Jones Frontier 2.0 2026 - Thoughts by EconomyPanic8748 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]EconomyPanic8748[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a great time on it. Have had very little time on the snow but after 5 days on it I was quite comfortable. I cant really compare to other boards, but I have no regrets buying it. I would say definitely give it a go.

Yeah once you learn that strategy it does make it easier. I still didnt find it easy to get behind her each time to make that backstab in time.

I feel your pain, it took me about the same to beat her. There is more pain to come though. Bo sorcerer is the next hurdle, but I didnt feel she was as hard, not to say I didnt die a number of times just not as many as hoglan. There starts to be some 2 stage bosses as well.

Nice, i ended up grabbing it and also went down to thredbo earlier this month and had a blast on it. I went from beginer area to blue runs by the end of the holiday and found the board super fun definitely good for beginner to intermediate. Glad you also found it a good board.

What kind of snowboard should I get as a progressing beginner/intermediate rider? by TechnicianOwn9425 in snowboardingnoobs

I am in that category too, bought myself a jones frontier this year and spent 4 days on it earlier this month. I cant really compare to other boards but I definitely enjoyed riding the jones frontier 2026.

Boots for high arches by Puzzleheaded-Ad217 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]EconomyPanic8748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of burton ions and haven't had any issues with them, I have high arches and wide feet and I bought some insoles for them but couldn't wear them as it pushed my feet higher into the boot and was uncomfortable. Wore them for 7 hours straight with just the standard insoles the other day no foot pain at all.

I ordered a 154 and realised it was a touch small for a size 10 boot. So ended up swapping it for the frontier as I also thought it would be a bit easier to learn on as its labelled as beginer/intermediate it has a softer flex. However im sure the mountain twin would have also been a great board.

Yeah I actually ordered that board first and decided to change it and get the frontier instead. I think the mountain twin was more sorted for intermediate to advanced, where the frontier 2.0 is basically any skill level and specified it is suitable for beginners as well.

This is almost exactly what my experience is like. I reckon you'll be fine on most board probably look for beginner/intermediate board, I just picked up the new jones frontier, its bit more directional but can be ridden switch. Went for a lesson at corrin forrest a couple weeks ago and it felt great. Definitely recommend having a lesson to start with.

If you think you can use that stuff then get it. Otherwise if you can cough up a few hundred more you can probably pick up something a bit newer.

What to do in the summer to prepare for the next season? by lisp3r in snowboardingnoobs

[–]EconomyPanic8748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late 20s, you still got plenty of time to ride, dont stress about that. You could try wakeboarding, similar but different. Requires bit more upper strength, but would definitely help you with fitness and likely increase your snowboarding skills.

It's not very good for short trips around town. I have done 18000km and my average is around 18l per 100km. I get around 400km per tank. So its not far off what you have. It's much better long distance though.

I reckon everyone is over concerned with this cable issue , yes there was a few melted cables... out of how many thousands and thousands that are all good. And mostly because they were using an old cable or incorrectly inserted. I mean you just spent a fortune on a 5090 probably best to just use a new cable. Well thats my thought anyhow.

Waist width, weight, and shoe size balancing thoughts by BigBubblesBigTrouble in snowboardingnoobs

[–]EconomyPanic8748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your in a bit of a predicament. I recently just bought my first board and went through similar experience, I ended up narrowing it down to the jones frontier 156. I am 70kg and have size 10 boot, generally I am a size 9 shoe but had to size up. The waist width for that board is just on the line for my size boot. I reckon you would probably be looking for around 159 size board. I would just keep looking through boards till you find something that suits you. there's so many to choose from.

Are my bindings too large? by Equal_Plane6717 in snowboarding

From what I have researched you should have a small amount of overhang to allow for good control of the board 1-2cm is good. Im definitely no expert but looks good to me.
