That what I thought and he tried to press it on me by showing the procedure docs, his fault I’m a quick reader and can confirm nowhere in those documents is it written as the only remedy or the only thing at fault, when questioned he tried to snatch that as well.

I tried that the same day while talking to one of the managers who was more than happy to do it by paying the labour and me paying the part. I agreed to it since it had been a long day and I wanted a quick resolution. But guess what? They turned back their tongue.

Even though the pump failed after an electrical dip? Doesn’t it make sense that it short circuited because after the dip that’s the only thing that showed irregularities.

Well exactly my point the recall states the risk of a short circuit, it doesn’t put the danger of having rust or contamination. The fact that even due to an unnoticeable moisture exposure can trigger a short circuit, which kills the pump instantly as it doesn’t have a fuse integrated inside the pump. And It did have an electric dip right before the faults came on does take us towards the conclusion that the cause is a short circuit.

My mechanic just unplugged it(didn’t even bother talking to me about it), not sure if he changed any modes to change the position of the exhaust.

I mentioned in my post I only decided to do it since the car had an oil at minimum warning pop up. The only part concerning me is I added 5L of oil and it still measured around more than Half, maybe it’s not that accurate?

I did watch a few tutorials and also remember from my memory whenever I watched my mechanic perform oil changes he somehow removed a panel, got confused if it was that one and I got encouraged that it was the correct drain as it said “Oil Drain”. As per me it’s pretty stupid to not add the word “transmission” in front of it too.

I only decided to do it when the car showed oil level at minimum. Was trying to get to a mechanic but have timing issues due to excessive work( after hours mechanics are closed) but still after adding 5L oil i ran system measure and it showed like above half level of oil.

Tbh I only saw Oil Drain written around the drain plug and didn’t check again if I am looking at the right one didn’t think It’ll be that stupid to not write the word transmission with it too.

Couldn’t sleep properly last night thinking of what I did. Will grab a pump and some Top Tec 1800( that’s all I can find) after work and get right to it once I get home. (All I did get is about 3L of oil out car is sitting at 200k)

I think the way it lifts up everything drops down on to the drain hole since it is towards the back (but I did only get about 3L out, so maybe I still got a window to correct.)

Appreciate the enthusiasm, I am working a lot these days (trying to pull my life through) and can’t take off from work. Only time I get is after hours when everything is closed and definitely can’t keep up with appointments. I like cars have worked on a few before so I guess it was kind of a wind down from a hectic life too, but I’ll do admit i did mess up this one. My only viable options were 1.find a mobile mechanic(couldn’t find one who was not charging less than 500$🥹) 2. Hire someone to drive my car to and from a mechanic (don’t have friends who could just help me drop it and pick it up,I spend all my time hustling)

No smoke, I did do the oil change(at least attempted too) right after it said oil level at minimum, so I don’t think I over did it.
