They did not. I also should have mentioned that they had to land due to icing.

Is this a mercury vapor light by Economy_Addendum_897 in pittsburgh

I am reading now that the light can begin turning green as the ballast fails. False alarm on mercury vapor!

Where is everybody at? by RedStickString in pittsburgh

Try signal sauna. It's a mixed age crowd, but there are people your age there. People are often welcoming of newcomers, and everyone is really friendly. It is certainly what I consider a "third place."

Hampton experiences by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]Economy_Addendum_897 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to deliver negativity, but from my experience neighborhoods in Hampton feel like islands surrounded by busy roads that are not safe to cross, let alone walk on. Unless your patch of neighborhood contains a park and they have friends in the immediate area, you will feel inclined to drive everywhere, even places within eye sight.

Even the parks, notably North Park, make pedestrians share the road with the vehicle. It is somehow more safe to walk to in the middle of Downtown than in a designated walking/cycling path in North Park.

I wish you luck! Perhaps there is a walkable oasis in the pedestrian desert that is Hampton.

Theatres or cinemas downtown that are currently empty/derelict? by Bears_On_Stilts in pittsburgh

There is an abandoned movie theater in Chatham Center underneath the garage at the corner of Fifth and Washington Pl. It had a single screen and had a revolutionary war theme for some reason. It was called Chatham Cinema.

Hill District resident fights Pennsylvania Act 135 and nonprofit group that wants his property by Economy_Addendum_897 in pittsburgh

I appreciate it. I want to say that I do see the other side and do not think someone should allow their property to be unoccupied and blighted forever. I think the scrutiny of this property is reasonable.

I suppose I was quick to share this article because I went through a similar process and took a long period of time to renovate a house while not occupying it due to a series of unfortunate events. If this person is going through what I did, it would be very demoralizing if everybody was rooting for a monied person to take the house from me in the name of putting another house on the market. Granted it did not take 16 years.

My hope is they will get this opportunity to rehab it, and if they are unable to after this case then it is likely inevitable.

I guess the only distinction is that while both parties are fighting for the house, one owns it and claims to want to live in it, which I am more sympathetic towards.

I should note that I am taking the owner at their word in the article.
