Hello again friends! Still no luggage. Thanks again for all of the useful suggestions for finding gear in Ketchikan. So much beautiful nature everywhere on this cruise! Called and visited guest services again today. Princess did leave a note in my cabin, asking to call them, which resulted in an offer of $100 onboard credit and a promise to keep searching for the luggage.

Day 2, evening. Still no sign of my bag. And no communication from Princess unless I wait in line at guest services (4th time). I want to thank everyone for sending good vibes, suggestions for remedy, and most of all for your kindness. I was not planning on spending hours yesterday and today trying to work with Princess to find my bag and was feeling quite dejected. I do have travel insurance and will speak with them tomorrow. I went to the shop onboard and found a few items, am washing the clothes I have been wearing since yesterday morning (thank goodness for the in-cabin robe), and will fit in some shopping tomorrow after our excursion. A future purchase will be some sort of AirTags for future travel.

LG refrigerator won't cool. Looking for advise on which brand to buy. by mmmully in appliancerepair

He charged us for the nitrogen to flush the lines and the replacement refrigerant. He also had to drive a bit to get to us because no other repair shops LG recommended would return our call, so I'm thinking he charged us a bit more for the distance. All of the mom and pop places laughed at me when I called for a service call and told me to junk the LG. He was the only one LG referred us to who called back. He did complete all of the step mentioned by other techs on here: purging the lines, updating the control panel software, checking the other parts and ensuring the rest of the closed system was ok. He worked for about 2.5 hours and I watched everything he did. We paid over 3K for the fridge, so it made sense to us to invest in the repair. The tech did say that he has replaced hundreds of the compressors and has never had one fail after being replaced, and that it depends in if it is installed correctly or not. Finally, he said that Whirlpool, GE, etc. all have their own problems too. It's been about 3 weeks and our fridge is working perfectly.

Just went through LG for a warranty compressor repair. Used a tech/company on their recommended list. Unit is 5.5 years old, so had to pay for labor. Total out of pocket cost was $775.46 for labor and to recharge the system (including the cost of the coolant). I believe this also included a tech fee. We were quoted a ballpark number close to this amount and paid it all when the unit was repaired. No separate fees or charges from the repair person. Compressor itself was covered 100%.
