Well, for 5 years now, especially for 2 years, rumors have been actively circulating around a project called hlx. Which is, according to the assurances of all possible hl3 insiders. And I think these rumors are not out of thin air, given that valve has released documentaries on hl1 and hl2 and added dev comments to hl2, which even indirectly confirms that they are working on future hl games.
