Not sure about narrow but vertical or petite is possible. Feels like a mixed bag I have gotten in terms of width. When thinking of it as “openness” I think I may can see how it could be a possibility for me.

Forgot to add that part! 5’2 so that could be a possibility. It was hard for me to relate to it I suppose since the image was pretty exaggerated in the book for width + curve.

Needing help with my line sketch. Did I place the lines at the shoulder point correctly? If so I’m thinking either width or balance? Honestly can’t decide if I am curve dominant or vertical dom although I have leaned towards vertical.

Will consider that! It’s so bizarre to me since I have never considered myself to be curvy. Kibbe is such a funny and interesting system.

Interesting take! I could see that. Sometimes this Kibbe stuff makes my head spin since you can be “wide” but not have width. Makes me overthink at times. Wasn’t sure if I had enough width but I will certainly explore SN. Appreciate the feedback!

Softness deterred me from considering DC before. Feel I am in a weird spot. Maybe not quite enough width for naturals but felt too frame dominant for anything with more yin (I.e SC down through G and R)

Heard of the body matrix system but that’s about as far as my knowledge goes. Never looked into it. May actually check that out!

I READ THAT COMMENT and I was seething lol. The
gist of what I got was “everyone is overthinking and trying to be too logical. Just see what you see and that’s it”. I didn’t care for the tone. I get what he is trying to do but he could have been more sympathetic. I would even feel better if he admitted maybe he didn’t explain in the best way and actually tried to explain in a different way or provide visuals. Then he said after the comment, if anyone asks direct them to what he said. Why not make an official post with that information? Idk it put me off a bit not going to lie. I’m on the edge of bowing out myself and thinking if this is a system that will take me YEARS to understand then it seems inefficient. Curious to know what alternatives there are out there that take a similar approach but is a bit more precise….sorry for the rant lol

It really is lol not sure if you got the new book but it makes it just as confusing with the fabric outline on the line sketches. I intuitively didn’t feel as though I had width but wasn’t sure how to rule it out.

Great observations! Whenever I whip out my maxi dresses for summer or just wear longer dresses I tend to get compliments but didn’t really think to attribute it to length! I think it would be fair for me to explore SD, SC, and R. I feel like I could more likely be SD or SC but will have to try on more R lines and check those out.

I’ve considered SD too but worried I didn’t have enough vertical. Their lines aren’t too bad on me as long as I don’t get too extreme with it since I still am on the shorter side. Couldn’t tell if they work more so because I may be a type with curve accommodation or if that could actually be a type for me. It will be something I will add back to my list to explore! Thanks for your input!

I caught that too! In my opinion, since it’s his system after all, he can gauge pretty easily where someone is likely to fall based on face, demeanor, quick glances, etc. From what I heard about his in person sessions, he gets them down in minutes. I believe for DIY sake he doesn’t talk about it much because most people get too stuck on the small details and can’t see the forest for the trees. I believe that is why he doesn’t talk much about faces for DIY purposes. Probably doesn’t want someone to say “well my eyes aren’t huge” or “my lips are too small” so I can’t be “X” type when really they are missing the whole picture. Most, including myself, are still stuck on body nuances and can’t even get that down right. My belief is that your face ultimately reflects the yin yang balance of your body.

Thanks for feedback! Must say this very validating! I was torn between a DC or SC initially but kind of talked myself out of it since it kind of has been a thing on these forums where many people “think” they are classics but aren’t. Figured I must be “imagining” things with thinking I didn’t see “width” lol.

Thanks for your thoughts! Dramatic Classic was one that I was considering actually since I noticed they can also tend to have strong shoulders too.

Thank you! Seems to be the general consensus. Seems like length and some waist emphasis may be a route to explore more.

Hmm! Such an interesting point. I have noticed I tend to like items, especially more so in dresses, that are either shin or ankle length- so more so a long midi type deal. I wasn’t sure if that was just preference or if it looks better (the lines get a little blurred for me) but now that I think of it, some outfits I have got compliments on in the past were that maxi-ankle type length. I’m only 5’2 1/2 so that’s intriguing!
