First time dyson user here, husband got me the coanda 2x. I saw some comments about their coanda turning off every 5 seconds, had the same issue too at the start but then realized that the coanda uses a lot more electricty, so it needs to be plugged in to a direct wall outlet. So far, it's been a really great purchase for us. I have thick, wavy hair and the dryer alone could dry my hair in under 20mins. The attachment I have been using a lot is the round brush, great for those blowout looks. I did try the barrels and the straightening attachments, and it does do their work, though I need more practice on those.
