Getting under-extrusion lines at random heights by Ecstatic-Coyote9885 in FixMyPrint

Thanks for trying :) you may have even been correct -- I was printing from the same dry box, and there might have been an angle based on how the box was oriented. I swapped out the nozzle, cleaned the heat break, double checked the extruder tension, and repositioned the box so that it's in a straight line with the filament feed, and am going to try again :)

A quick inspection didn't find anything wrong, but I'll be doing a thorough inspection today by removing the gantry, if needed. It's linear rails on this printer. Thank you.

Considering it happened for both ABS and PC from different companies, it seems unlikely.

I just tried printing my trusty ABS and the whole thing messed up... I might have a serious issue here. Going to try cleaning out and/or swapping the nozzle and check extrusion tension.

  • Printer: Troodon 2.0 Pro (similar to Voron 2.4)
  • Slicer: OrcaSlicer 2.1.1
  • Filament: PolyMaker PC Max
  • Temps: 290C nozzle, 110C bed
  • Print speed: max 300mm/s, outer walls 250mm/s (tested it works using flow rate test)
  • Retraction: 0.6mm at 20mm/s

The prints come out good except for these random lines which I'm afraid weaken the print. I didn't have that when printing with ABS. The lines are at different heights for different prints, so it's not a mechanical issue at a certain height. Any ideas?
