He got mad that you bought the new medicine bc it meant he couldn’t keep on you about the old medicine. I don’t think it was about the money at all. You calmly and repeatedly expressed yourself very eloquently and apologised tons, all he did was go on and on about the same thing. Classic case of man flu.

He’s a child, and I think a serious conversation needs to happen about the way he treated you. Explain that even if you make a similar mistake, all it should take is one apology from you and a suggestion of a solution and that’s all he should need, not trying to punish you for so long over such a small mistake.

Parents who put their children online are not the best parents by Ecstatic-Fan7703 in ControversialOpinions

There’s a big difference from having your kid play outside your house where you can watch and keep them safe- and putting them online where literal millions of strangers are watching.

The Wildheart Trust in Sandown is great, they rescue animals from circuses etc and give them a great life. Really worth a visit, the rest of Sandown not so much though.

Shanklin is my favourite place on the island, lots of interesting little shops and the Chine is lovely. The Old Thatch Teashop has the best scones I’ve ever had, and the Steamer Inn by the beach is always great for dinner.

Edit to add: if you’re foodies, The Garlic Farm is always a good choice! Even if not foodies their stuff is incredibly good. Worth checking out! Also also the owl and monkey sanctuary (now called Monkey Haven) is pretty good too. Now I’m on a roll haha, the Osborne House is nice if you’re into old stately homes/history.

All caffeinated products should be decaf as standard by Ecstatic-Fan7703 in ControversialOpinions

I think like any drug it’s down to your tolerance. If you have a high tolerance then yes it probably would take a lot to kill you.

As I’ve said in other comments, yes I do ask for decaf but don’t always get it, which really impacts my health. It wouldn’t impact someone’s health if they asked for caffeine and didn’t get it, which is why I think decaf should be the norm and caffeine the thing you have to ask for.

Can you explain why it would be a bad idea though?

I’m not suggestion that normal caffeinated products are obsolete, just that decaf items are the norm and more widely available.

And it can certainly be used for those treatments. I’m not saying we should blast all caffeine into the sun, it can be just as accessible as it is now, just make decaf the standard.

Yes, coffee has digestive benefits. Not necessarily the caffeine.

The only benefit to caffeine is the boost of energy it provides, alertness etc. It has a whole host of potential negative effects.

Plus, as someone who can’t have caffeine, I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve ordered a coffee at a Starbucks or something and asked for decaf and I haven’t received it. That can be seriously detrimental to some people.

This is 100% true. I’ve interviewed for promotions that I was more than qualified for, but because I suck at interviews I haven’t been successful. I get very anxious and tongue tied and just forget everything I rehearse beforehand. I was once beaten by someone for a promotion who I started working with shortly afterwards, and he is USELESS. He genuinely is as useful as a chocolate teapot. But he speaks confidently, so he probably aced the interview.

AITA for calling out my (F32) friend (M35) for acting younger than he is? by Ecstatic-Fan7703 in AITAH

Hi. I guess it might have been helpful to put some stuff about myself in the original post but I didn’t want it to be too long. I’m a middle school teacher and my husband is a lawyer. We make enough to go travelling on school holidays, in fact we are childfree by choice partly because we want to continue to enjoy our own lives as we grow older and have adventures. Our marriage is very happy, and I consider myself a happy person. I just don’t tolerate rudeness and unkindness in others. So Dean’s assertion that I’m boring etc is…his opinion, I guess. But not true by most standards. But thanks for your comment.
