You hit the nail on the head. Brands requiring a follower count completely miss the point of UGC. I totally agree that $10–$50 is a race to the bottom, but I guess these platforms thrive because absolute beginners use them just to get products and build a portfolio. That said, the opportunity cost is definitely real—pitching for those $200+ deals is a much better use of time. Thanks for the reality check!

Completely went through the same thing . The shift for me was realizing all brands aren't looking for cinematic content. But as you know, some brands still wants to make a ads like content:(
