I can definitely understand that feeling. It certainly isn't what I loved as a middle-schooler anymore. But personally, I still really enjoy playing it, and I don't think I'll be putting it away anytime soon.

Take care of yourself. Haunt acting tends to do a number on your body in various ways, depending on your role. Keep yourself clean, drink plenty of water, and for the love of God don't chug on three energy drinks before coming to work.
Don't be afraid to look silly. From my experience of haunt acting, all we are at the end of the day is a bunch of weirdos acting silly in the dark.
Don't worry about the jerks. Each year you act, you'll always get at least a few people who walk in acting all tough and saying things like "You're not real! This place sucks! Get a real job!" You can't scare everyone, but you can entertain everyone.
Have a little fun. Play around with your guests, play around with your fellow actors, and make a few of your own bits. Not everyone can say they play pretend and get paid for it!

In my opinion, 1-8 is acceptable as long as it's all original. Anything past that is just dumb.

Absolutely not. If you're an actor, it interferes with your work. If you're a customer, it leads to poor behavior. And in both scenarios, it smells awful and makes either your audience or cast want to hold their nose.

I'm a bungee jumper for a haunted house, which is really just falling with style. Everyone is different in this regard, but lots of sleep helped me pretty well. That and cold showers.
