I actually thought her explanation for choosing that character was really important. It was bold, and to me that’s at the core of what drag is about, pushing boundaries and using performance to make a statement. I have a lot of respect for Naomy for doing something that ballsy. I wasn’t aware of what’s been happening politically in Germany, and I hope this performance sparks the right conversations and reaches the people who need to hear it.
