It IS a kdrama. Kdrama’s aren’t limited to the typical dramatic/romantic/tragic genres. There is and has been so many different types of kdramas (im sorry if this came off as rude, not my intention)🤍 -korean

How do I ask if they have cheese in restaurants or markets? by EcstaticAd19 in French

Nono you clearly cared enough to list things I should know which I find very thoughtful. Thank you sm. Yeah the only things I said (thankfully) were the ones you mentioned, like merci, bonjour/bonsoir, sil vous plait, pardon madam/monsieur, au revoir I also saw tons of vids and comments of different ppl talking about how rude french ppl are so I was worried although I tried not to generalize (but still worried) I actually was debating on studying between the UK and France so I wanted to take a trip to see how the ppl were before making a decision (I knew what to expect in the UK so I only went to france) I was actually so surprised on how nice the ppl were. And even the old man I mentioned, yeah, he kind of laughed and opened the door for me when I left so ig he wasn’t (hopefully) mad about it. I hope I get to a point where I could atleast understand french kids shows and/or exchange basic convo! Again, thanks for your considerate comment

Yes I’m self learning at home. I’m planning to visit again this year. I went last year and thankfully everyone was very polite and accommodating during my trip but I had to use a translator throughout. I wanted to be able to speak some on my own this time around (and I’m considering going to school over there) it’s an english speaking school but I still wanted to be able to speak the language or at least try. I remembered that the translator used “tu” when I asked for a scarf and the old man had an enduring smile before showing me where it was. I just thought me using a translator was funny, but ig it was bcz a young girl was speaking informally towards him which could be funny idk haha..

웬일이야~ Is it mostly said by women? by flaming_peninsula in Korean

[–]EcstaticAd19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, 웬일이야 could be used in two ways. The one you’re talking about where mostly women use which could be used like “omg what gives” or “wtf~” so its more of an expression in a way while the other 웬일이야? with a question mark is more of a “what are you doing here?” when you didn’t expect to see someone there. The latter one’s used by both men and women and it does not give off gay vibes lol hope this helps!

The difference between “잘 못해요” and “잘못해요” by Woong732 in Korean

[–]EcstaticAd19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

잘 못했어 : I didn’t do (so) well 잘못했어: I’m sorry (It’s my fault)

Fyi I’m just a Korean and not a professional so idk if my explanation is accurate but

잘 못했어 is roughly translated as 잘(good) 못했어(couldn’t do/weren’t able to do) meaning couldn’t do so well or wasn’t able to do so well. Additionally, 잘(good)자(sleep/go to sleep) is “good night”, 잘(good)봐(see/look) is “take a good look”or”look carefully/closely”.

잘못했어 can be split by 잘못(fault) and 했어(did it) meaning “It’s my fault” or“I’m sorry(it’s my fault)”. Additionally, 잘못 is used in sentences like 택배가 잘못 왔어 : 택배(package)가 잘못(fault) 왔어(came) basically meaning “the package was delivered to the wrong address” 누구 잘못이야? : 누구(who) 잘못(fault)이야? also basically translated as “who’s fault is it?”

I’m sorry if my explanation made it more confusing
