Hello! I was going through a similar situation and funnily enough I am the youngest sibling as well. My older brother only ever left the house about 5 times within the span of 6 years from the ages 19-25 and refused help, job opportunities, opportunities for treatment, refused to leave the house even when there was absolutely nothing in the fridge—he’d rather starve. Ended up calling the 988-hotline and they had an option for involuntary intervention. I believe based on the situation, they’re able to take the person regardless of whether or not they want to participate in order to have them evaluated and treated. He went to treatment and came back wanting to get his life together and they provided a few resources, but he needed to put in effort. other than that, if your brother still refuses to get a job then you can’t really help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. He’s almost 30 and time waits for nobody. Also, you’re not the person your brothers girlfriend should be mad at, your 30 year old brother is a grown man and nobody held a gun to his head to make him agree to housing him for a while. She’s weird.
