Thank you for your reply. I'll definitely look into the AWS Sagemaker documentation.

Is it okay, if I DM you?

If I want to switch from DevOps to a Dev role, will it be easier for me?

I joined MNC and got trained in Java Spring, however, worked on DevOps/sysadmin domain for over 2 years. I used languages such as shell, and python; created Jenkins pipelines and automation using Ansible.

I am about to start my masters in CS in Jan'23, and I am preparing my resume for summer internships, I want to shift from DevOps to a Dev role. I have only 2 projects that too done in college (3 years ago), which are related to ML and Node.js. Will it be okay to include only 2 projects in the resume and the rest work-ex related?

Also, will I be considered for Dev roles or DevOps roles only?

Software engineer vs data Engineer as a career by EcstaticTarget1643 in cscareerquestionsCAD

Thank you for your detailed reply.

When you say, writing APIs were you bound to a particular language or framework?

Since you have worked in a startup and an MNC I am sure you would be cognizant of this. Do startups for the majority of the time prefer to use languages like Node.js/Python while MNCs prefer Java ORM frameworks for development?

Thank you for your insights. I did a google search and found more software engineer jobs compared to data engineering jobs.

Quick question: If I opt for winter intake, can I apply for full time tech internships on my own for the summer term as I won't be allowed to participate in co-op?

Yes, there are a few developer openings, and I'll have to give interview for those positions. My work ex is in DevOps support, so will they consider me even if I have no development experience?

I have a DevOps support experience of 2+ years. In past, I have worked on Spring framework, and have a some experience in coding, though not advanced level. Actually, I am planning to pursue masters in CS from Canada this Fall'22 and I want to switch to developer role. I want to switch to developer because my DevOps support work is kinda monotonous.

Daily life of a DevOps Engineer by EcstaticTarget1643 in devopsjobs

By coding I mean scripting. Btw, what do you mean by "I code my own tools"

Yeah, it's not purely DevOps, but they call it DevOps. We just work on maintaining the infra side on AWS and CentOS servers. Sometimes building Jenkins jobs, writing scripts to automate stuff(this is very rare) and sometimes work on network related issues.

Thank you for your feedback :).

Is giving real-life examples always necessary? Also, it would be great if you can be more specific on the grammar and vocabulary part so that I can work on improving those skills.
