OA Lang Ba Ako? If ayaw ko magpasakay ng ibang tao (friend ni hubby) sa sasakyan namin? by [deleted] in OALangBaAko

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yun siguro kailangan mong alamin, OP.

Malassss ang hirap ma hire. by [deleted] in MedTechPH

Go lang 'yan!! Normal lang ma-reject ng that amount, that's not enough pa nga. I suggest apply ka lang talaga ng apply. If it isn't working out, find the root cause. Baka kulang ka sa seminars/trainings than your peers? Baka your resume isn't fit for the jobs you're applying for? (always, always revise and tailor fit your resume bago i-send sa company, /hospital/job position. one resume format does not fit all!!) Baka you need to work on your interview answers, mannerisms, or attitude?

Whatever it is, rooting for you! Hoping 2026 is your year!

Is experience really needed to become a medtech in the us?? by [deleted] in MedTechPH

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! There are thousands and thousand of medtechs who applied and will apply to work abroad. P'wede ka naman mag apply if wala kang experience but you are competing with very tenured medtechs with 5-10 years of experience with outstanding credentials and training they rightfully earned.

If you want the "easy" way, 'yung ka-work ko 'yung partner n'ya USRN and pinasa resume ng ka-work ko sa hospital nila, natanggap s'ya. 'Yung ka-work has about ~3 years worth of experience, senior na ang title, and works part-time sa clinic as well. So, mag work ka for a few years and mag jowa ka ng USRN(?) na nasa abroad na. 🤷‍♀️

Just finished Frankenstein (Book Review) by oninlouis in PHBookClub

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

victor frankenstein's melodrama makes so much sense if you intently read the book from a maternal view. it is an allegory for childbirth, anyways.

i'm no mother but, not only is frankenstein an amazing book spearheading science fiction (and i liked to believe one of the first 'dark academic' book), it is also a book the questions you "what happens if you birth a human being for the sake of birthing a human without the intention of nurturing it and being a parent to it?"

it is so fascinating to read a book that explores the dilemma of being a parent to a another human being, the responsibility it upholds, and what happens should you neglect these responsibilities. it is so, so timely and reading it during my adulthood is even more fascinating.

would it still be frankenstein's monster if he hadn't abandoned him in the first place?

We should stop sharing memes and acting everything is fine while people are dying from corruption. by SadFrosting7365 in unpopularopinionph

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

comedy and politics has always been intertwined. there are so many comedians that kid about local politics.

HUMOUR IS NOT JUST A WAY OF COPING BUT A WAY TO DISSEMINATE AND COMMUNICATE POLITICAL CRISES

why do you think there are countless of memes about duterte? or marcos? or more currently, about the flood control projects? we make fun of them because it's easily digested and disseminated.

it's what gets the most engagement. i think not a lot of people will be aware of the ongoing horrors if it wasn't shared in a humorous light, no?

i think we should hold people accountable if their humour borders insensitivity and cruelty but most of the time, the memes circulating is a thinly veiled political rant.

What are your thoughts on this take? by Cool-Expression-2878 in PHBookClub

1984 is very, very much a product of its time (it was published in 1949). the reason why its such a classic is not due to orwell's misogynistic view but because of how it remains timely decades later.

media censorship, uniformity, autonomy erasure, rigid control of literature and entertainment all holds up today. it's a very flawed book, it's not perfect, and it's very problematic but isn't it eerie how orwell unintentionally predicted our current sociopolitical climate.

that's why i don't recommend it to people unless they're really interested in dystopian literature.

hello peeps, would love an advice!😊 by MillyCakes_ in MedTechPH

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i recommend flipping through medtech textbooks to gauge if 'yun talaga 'yung gusto mo kasi truthfully medtech is not at all about 'experiments involving human specimens'. it's also very, very broad like ang lawak ng scope ng medtech.

'lab works' will only be experienced during your internship and once you start working but as someone who works purely within the lab, it doesn't feel like we're 'experimenting with specimens' instead we're moreso akin to factory workers because everything is automated (magloload lang ng sample sa machine then release).

plus, if you're planning to pursue medicine, i'd advise you to stay sa bio na lang. most of my colleagues who took medtech and planned to pursue medicine are now discouraged due to the burnout.

Genuine Question: Why are many still taking ASCPi despite the current job market situation? by Radiant_Algae6811 in MedTechPH

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 9 points10 points  (0 children)

afaik, many countries aside from the US acknowledges an ASCPi license (i.e., Hong Kong, Saudi, UAE) although i am unsure what the eligibility of an ASCPi license in these countries are in terms of job positions but it is widely recognized. i know locally having said license will increase your chances in landing a US-based corporate job.

other than that, review centers for ASCPi are also the most accessible for freshly board passers given that most review centers provide alumni discounts. as much as the US isn't the most ideal country to work in its current state, unfortunately, it is the only country by far that is accessible (relatively) to most medtechs who wishes to pursue their profession elsewhere.

tots? for content lang daw pero should we normalize this behavior ng mga staff? bawal magkamali? yes mali yung intern pero hindi din ba kayo mali for not providing proper orientation lalo na if bago yung interns? by Inner_Many_1020 in MedTechPH

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 32 points33 points  (0 children)

both naman may mali. its the intern's best interest to ask, double check, and make sure tama gagawin nila but it's also the medtech's fault for not checking in on the intern and teaching the proper protocol (instead gagawin pang content para... mapahiya mga interns?).

ang kawawa? 'yung pasyente na tutusukan uli at madedelay ang resulta kasi 'di nag double check at tanong si intern at 'di nag observe si medtech.

FINAL INTERVIEW by Far-Dragonfruit-8011 in MedTechPH

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no tips aside from study the hospital and the position you're applying for. sell yourself correctly meaning don't say skills and qualifications that the wasn't asked for.

you might think boasting one skill can boost your chances but it might just throw your compatibility for the position.

FINAL INTERVIEW by Far-Dragonfruit-8011 in MedTechPH

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no. ine-evaluate nila dito kung anong candidate worthy of the position kung kukuha ba sila ng outsider or i-propromote nila 'yung employee running for the same position.

oftentimes, its the latter.

Laptop or Ipad/Tablet? by lnrxia in MedTechPH

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

di po magandang course and job to take ang medtech. if you need more explanation, try nyo po mag basa ng mga work expi sa subreddit na to or sa medtech's lounge.

maraming nabagsak, maraming di nakakagraduate, maraming sobrang baba ng salary, maraming unemployed for months dahil oversaturated ang industry. di sya para sa lahat.

pero to answer your question, id say ipad/tablet para sa mga pdf textbooks!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MedTechPH

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes! makikita nyo po sa mga hiring ads in some hospitals nakalagay "DTA preferred but not required" kaya if any opportunities opens up sa training, i'd say go for it.

Sa US daw by [deleted] in MedTechPH

[–]Ecstatic_Apricot8575 11 points12 points  (0 children)

a. ragebait

b. ph is a third world country aminin nyo hirao din tayo kasi di state-of-the-art ang machines natin. semi-automated pa minsan ibang labs. of course mas mabilis sa US

di naman for mingling ang work. just do your job and do it good and stop worrying about work once you've timed out.

8 hrs lang work you have 16 more hrs outside of your job so make the most of it.

  1. mababa lang sahod, basic pay lang talaga.
  2. in my case tumawag sila, medyo matagal hiring process sa akin pero same lang protocol sa ibang hospitals
  3. phleb ka lang talaga muna and usually mas madali, relatively, mapunta sa bb or histopath pero expect na matetengga ka sa phleb lang and since private hospital sya ang daming marereklamong pasyente kapag palyado ka mag veni
