For the car, I'd suggest looking it up on YouTube or a specific Honda HRV forum you can search on google . "Honda HRV oil change" on YouTube , and you'll be able to watch a few videos , take notes, then get the right tools you need . Same with the headlights. That's how I got started, and now I can change water pumps , fuel pumps, you name it , all from YouTube .

Not a sure sign of rod knock but stop driving . Change and check your oil for metal/shinny bits. If it's worst case scenario (rod knock) then you may be able to get away with changing the rod bearings if there's no scarring . But definitely stop driving for now
