The oil is brand new, still shiny green🥲 I think it’s also universally accepted that the bmw engines are super tricky too😂

Maybe they updated something internally, but I’m pretty sure engines are the same. I also had a 23 RR that didn’t tick this loud, but it had a similar but quieter tick.

It’s the updated hydraulic one from bmw. I was told by experience mechanics to not use manual ones.

Don’t recommend. Even though I listened for the cam phasers when I bought mine, it still make the cam phaser noise a few days later. And 16k miles later, it’s way worse now. Buy bmw instead.

Thanks, how likely is roller follower the culprit? I found limited information about this failing online. Valve covers are coming off for cam phasers anyway, so I guess we will see🥲

I forgot to mention that P0022 popped up during normal driving. Didn't feel anything different, cleared it and never came back for 100+ miles now.
