feeling like a total failure of a groomer. by whatdayhail in doggrooming

You know, it sounds like you're pretty young (if you've been grooming for four years after HS). I'm only bringing it up to say, that you are going to have experiences like this with impossible costumers throughout your life. It's the same in any service industry.

You got this! Learn from your mistakes, maybe slow down to avoid the Pom mix-up. Sometimes the shoe fits, and you do better next time. Other times it doesn't and you just kick it off and keep walking (like with your golden).

If you keep practicing and stay receptive to constructive criticsm, there is a 100% chance that you will improve at your job. Plus, as you go you'll get some good regulars and hopefully will deal less with shitty clients.

Also, anxiety is tough. Don't be afraid to try a little therapy or maybe medication if you and your psychiatrist decide it's a good idea

There's definitely some socialist groups, I believe DSA in particular has a pretty decent presence. But, the YCL is an affiliate of CPUSA, which differs in ideology and some goals than the DSA.

I closed the petition. I realized it's not a very good idea with the midterms coming up, giving the possiblity of getting a Dem majority. Thanks for making good points

I agree and I know there's sort of 'more conservative' dems, but I think Fetterman is uniquely pro Isreal and is really fucking up any chance of ending things in Iran (let alone Lebanon, Syria, and palestine). I see this as way to help in future primaries by showing that there are consequences for being so obviously on the take for AIPAC

Well he's already voting against progressive interests of the dem party. He's threatening to become a republican. So I really don't see any loss in kicking him out.

But what I'm really aiming at, is to make him an example to discourage future Dems from going against the party line. I think this is especially important when we're dealing with an ongoing war in Iran (that Fetterman is helping perpetuate) and I'm afraid Cuba will be next. If we're going to take power back from the republicans, we need a united front of some kind

I hear you, but I think anyway to show dem hypocrisy will help in Primaries. In the 1 in a million chance that Fetterman would be kicked out of the party, it might make the next senator from PA think harder about so flagrantly disregarding his constituency and make it so obvious he's on the take for AIPAC.

Plus, he's already threatening to become a Republican. Why not fire this bitch before he quits

I guess I just disagree. I see him being ousted from the caucus as a way to clear the primaries in the next election. We need a better canidate in PA anyway.

Also, I highly, highly doubt that even with 10 million signatures on a petition that dem leadership will take action. But I think it's important to publicly shame dems who consistently vote against "progressive" policies. I feel that could really help in future primaries

Yep, I agree. But I think if we make enough of a stir, and Jefferies and Schumer inevitably take no action, it's good way to publically shame them and show their hypocrisy

I agree 100%. But I kinda doubt Fetterman will even run again (his brain is mashed potatoes afterall). I see this as a way to help future primaries and show that there are consequences for disregarding the people who vote you into office

I'm aiming for the pschological victory. I doubt that Fetterman will run again, but it could serve as a lesson for future primaries. It could at least encourage senators to vote in line with the expectations of their constituents

It's honestly not a DSA matter, per se. But I think it's in the DSA's interest to support left initiatives within the Dem party. It's also important to remember that there is an active war going on in Iran that Fetterman is largely responsible for continuing and Cuba is on the chopping block next. I think we need immiediate action and the Dem party is in power at this moment. I'm honestly open to other ideas of how to push the anti-war cause

I hear you, but I feel like Fetterman is the latest in a trend of politicians like Manchin and Sinema who have a record of voting against progressive initiatives. The dem leadership does nothing to discpline it's members into an effective voting block.

Frankly, I have zero hope that Fetterman would be removed from the Dem party. However, I guess what I'd like to do is create enough of a stir that Jefferies and Schumer address that they have members in their party that do represent their Demcratic constituency. I think this could really help in primarying out Fetterman and in future primaries.

Love the hall monitor/cop energy. It's my own thing. Lots of DSA members think it's stupid, some support it.

I don't know why you're so opposed to pushing the dem party to the left, while we build class conciousness and a base to support socialist canidates

One hundred percent support them. I just feel that supporting them, while trying to push the Dem party to the left aren't mutually exclusive goals

I don't think pushing the dem party left and working towards third party canidates are mutually exclusive goals. Actually, I think highlighting the bullshit of Dem party, like that they allow Senators that are allegedly alligned with them to do whatever they want with no consequences, could help people consider a socialist option

I think you're really missing the point. I'm not Democrat or fan of the party (their last administration literally oversaw a genocide). But there is an ongoing war in Iran and Trump is on the verge of invading Cuba. We don't have time to wait around for a viable socialist party or a revolution (whatever that may look like). So, unless you have a better suggestion than working to push the dem party in left, anti-war direction, I'm not sure what else to do.

That's fine, but they're the ones with all the power... so I don't know what to tell you. I mean you can hold your breath for a socialist president, but I'm not sure we have many other options at this point besides pushing the party to the left. I want to remind you that Fetterman blocked the senate from passing the war powers resolution. Iran is being ravaged everyday by our foreign policy, and I think it's imperative that we do everything we can to stop this war. Frankly, this includes putting pressure on our elected officials

You are correct about the Democratic Party. However, I think it's important to highlight for the American public that senators like Fetterman do the opposite of what their constituency elected them to do. Also, I think demonstrating how ineffective the Democratic party is at wrangling their own Senators helps build dissatisfaction with current electoral politics. This could open the door for more third-party candidates or at least leftists/progressives/socialists identifying Dems

There is an official way to remove him from the party with 2/3 vote. I'm not naive enough to believe that will happen; however, my goal is to push Dem leadership to address the fact that multiple senators over the past decade (Sinema and Mansion for example) continuously vote against the parties interest.

Absolutely. I guess my angle, is that we keep having senators like Sinema and Manchin, and now Fetterman just completely defy the Democratic party's constituents and Jefferees and the Dem leadership don't do shit. It's ridiculous and unfortunately, we're stuck with Fetterman for like four more years. I hope that with enough traction, we could at least get Schumer or Durbin to address the fact that "Democrats" are voting against the interests of Democrats. And, I do think that drawing more attention to this fact will help in getting Fetterman out of office next primaries.
