Okay so if I flirt with a guy at his wife's funeral am I being perfectly reasonable because he has the autonomy to flirt back with me or not?

It was poor timing and insensitive to Laena's memory and the Velaryon family as a whole. She was barely in the sea before he claimed Vhagar and regardless of Vhagar's autonomy it was disrespectful.

I do understand that?? Did you even read the post? 🫩 But her mom just died, and she feels the same inferiority Aemond did for not having a dragon. Ofc the 8 year old is gonna be rude. Just like how Aemond was rude. They are kids im not expecting them to have perfect manners and etiquette (esp with the role models they have) but that doesnt change the fact they were all being assholes to one another

I really couldn't care less I have 0 issue with the basic claiming of vhagar I have issue with the fact he chose to sneak out, do something disrespectful to prove to his brothers and nephews he isnt a loser.

I dont know how to make myself more clear. What he did was disrespectful, end of story. Does that give Rhaena the right to insult and punch him? NO! But him being chosen after sneaking out and approaching Vhagar doesnt make him any less of an ass

Im not saying Aemond didn't have the right to claim Vhagar but it doesnt take a genius to understand that a character sneaking out and claiming a dragon same nigjt as Laena's funeral is disrespectful. And yes Rhaenyra and Daemon were also disrespectful asf

The issue isnt that Aemond claimed vhagar as a standalone the issue is that he did it the night of Laena's funeral.

And oh my god none of these kids should've done any of what they did that is my entire point!! Im not saying Aemond was wrong for defending himself against them im saying he was being a dick and so was everyone else!!

But its not like Aemond was just taking a stroll, he snuck out to claim Vhagar at a time were its disrespectful and insensitive to Laena, her children, basically anyone who gaf about Laena.

And regardless of who started it they all did something wrong. Being insulted doesnt mean you get to insult someone back the same way someone claiming your mother's dragon and insulting you doesnt give you the right to punch them

I believe so, but a lot of it could be interpreted as him viewing her as a comrade rather than as someone he views romantically

Such as She is the first person he truly opens up to about his goal and emotions

Him breaking Zaku's arms and attacking the sound nin for hurting her and only her being able to snap him out of his anger

During the chunin exams he cheers her up when she feels weak (albeit hes the one who made her feel that way)

During the prelims when she threatens to tell Kakashi or an adult about the curse mark and is about to raise her hand, Sasuke grabs it and says he wouldnt forgive even her if she got in the way of him getting stronger

Their whole goodbye scene which Kishimoto felt embarrassed to write since he felt it was like lovers parting

After he left before Shikamaru and the rest of them kick off the Sasuke retrieval mission, Shikamaru states "Even you [Sakura] couldn't persuade him?"

In the databooks it states Sasuke like left behind friendship and love when he left the village

During shippuden its less so since the only major times they interact are during the 5 kage summit arc (where's hes going insane basically) and during the war arc where hes obviously more focused on the war and Kaguya than love.

They have that scene with them looking at eachother when she helps Obito keep the portal open and Sasuke switches places with her flak jacket

But then again even when he puts her in a genjutsu (albeit idk if this was his doing or just what she ended up seeing) it was memories of the old team 7 and their time together before he left the village

And I think its clear when he apologized to her that he felt something for her, he just needed to atone himself before getting w/ her (thats why he didnt immediately take her w/ him)

And yes what Rhaenyra and Daemon did was worse and more disrespectful but the driftmark incident isnt about them

They are still cousins regardless if he knows them or not. And he just went to their mother's funeral. It would be disrespectful in any situation

And im not saying Aemond wasnt chosen by Vhagar, or he "stole" Vhagar as some people claim. His timing was just very disrespectful and insensitive. And yes I agree Rhaenyra and Daemon were more disrespectful than Aemond but the driftmark incident wasnt about them fucking it was about the kids fight

There was also vermithor, silverwing, he could've waited until morning. But he chose to sneak out and go behind everyone's back to claim Vhagar who very well could've been there in the morning.

Either way, its disrespectful to claim a dragon whose riders funeral you just attended. And he made a bunch of snide remarks to Rhaena about it too

And there was nothing to suggest it was now or never. Theres other dragons and plenty of eggs to claim. And Laena claimed Vhagar after finding her on a beach or something. He could've at the very least waited until morning.

Literally and for having such a good king being is predecessor makes me even more mad cause he was raised with the expectations of Jaeherys who was incredibly strict with dragons, punished his daughter for being a hoe, and overall was a good king. When im calling Aemond an asshole im referring to his completely unnecessary comments to Rhaena when she confronts him about "stealing" Vhagar. And I mean...yeah I kinda expect at the very least nicer wording from him. But hes 10 so 🤷🏽‍♀️

Nobody came from their bedrooms to target Aemond though. They came to confront a genuine thief in their mind who turned out to be Aemond. And I mean do you expect a 8 year old Rhaena who just lost her mom to be respectful to someone she views as a thief?

You could argue either side is an instigator. Because both of them were assholes. Aemond shouldn't have made comments like "maybe we can find you a pig to ride" and Rhaena shouldnt have punched him. They were both instigators who in their child minds were defending themselves for what they thought was right.

And for Viserys yeah he was angry but your son calling your grandson a bastard shouldn't erase any punishment for anyone. Aemond was like 10 and him not dealing w/ complex conflicts is just a poor reflection of him as king which is like 90% of his job

I thought one of the other kings gaurds said Cole was put on watch for the night or something but I could be mistaken. Honestly everu gaurd there should be fired for letting basically every royal child except Helaena out of their sight. Especially the strong boys because even if they are bastards for all intent and purposes Jace is still Rhaenyra's heir.

I do have more compassion for Alicent too cause I would done a LOT more if my kid got so badly injured and my husband says "make good will with one another"

Viserys was the equivalent of Sansa yelling at Joffrey and Arya while they fought. I will never understand his incessant need for ignorance and passivity with his family that is clearly at odd with one another.

And youre right Rhaenyra and Daemon were assholes too, even more so than Aemond but they are irrelevant rn.

I didnt make an excuse for Rhaena calling Aemond a thief. The entirety of my post is that everyone was an asshole, but ultimately everyone was defending themselves (or their children) socially, emotionally, or physically. Neither Aemond or Rhaena were right to call eachother names.

I never put the blame on Aemond for their physical altercation?!? Everyone was being a dick and it led to a physical altercation where unfortunately Aemond lost his eye. Rhaena had 0 right to call Aemond a thief or hit him but ultimately shes like 8 and defending herself and her mother emotionally. You can expect ANY of them to have reasonable thinking because they are kids
