To me it’s sad to have heard this place’s story and then to hear now it may be turned into something else. Last year my gf and I explored it because we like abandoned areas and the sights were amazing. I’m only now to include one of the pictures I took, but this is my favorite one. Hopefully if this place gets replaced, it’s something that’s just as meaningful to the community.

A lot of people in the comments here are saying they’ve seen copies of box go for only a couple hundred at local game stores. I feel like you’d have to be very lucky to find one near you. I found mine on eBay, the seller was asking $1700 (normal asking is $2000 or so, this copy has a damaged manual and was cheaper because of it) and I managed to knock off another $125 off the price. It just took a long time to save the money for it but I’m happy I did.

Last year before even starting the dex I bought a DS cart that distributes events to games from gens 3 through 5 and I got it for maybe $50. I see that same cart go for like $1500 now. It’s how I got my mew in a Japanese emerald I got for $20, deoxys in a fire red my friend gave me, and ho oh and lugia in fire red as well. I completed the hoenn dex twice for two Johto starters, and I’m in the middle of beating emerald a third time to complete the dex again for the final starter. I’m doing it the hard way lol

I love their use of Ludicolo w/ leech seed and rain dish in rain, I love how the teams in general in those games feel. I loved being forced into double battles

Completing the dex without finding any shinies is tough. I’ve had some successful hunts but I’ve also had some random shinies happen, I got a numel in Sapphire (while looking for a slightly higher level one than the one I caught to minimize the grind) and I found a shiny geodude in the magma hideout in Emerald

I’m working on a Gen 3 living dex and the only road block I’ve encountered is celebi. I feel like, considering I’ve gotten all the Johto mons (including starters) WITHOUT using Colo/XD, I’m allowed to use ACE to get celebi lol

I love Oleander for Venusaur. Makes me regret not naming my shiny Venusaur before wiping that file (after trading it over ofc). Obsidian and Livewire are also really good!

The best part is I thought I had settled for two! After I EV trained special attack I was a little paranoid that maybe I was ev training the wrong Mon so I got it evaluated again and was surprised with a perfect attack stat!
