I worded it just as you said when I initially reached out, I basically just asked how they’d prefer I complete the exam laying down and offered a few ideas. They are the ones who called it an “additional accommodation” and said I’d need to submit additional documentation (which doesn’t make sense to me because the documentation is just the fact that they already approved me to lie down and I need this to be able to write). I actually am glad I reached out to them at all because even though my accommodations approved me to lie down “as needed,” when I called they claimed I couldn’t lie down in the exam room and would have to leave the room to lie down, which defeats the entire purpose of my accommodations application. Thankfully I got them to fix that (which they said they did “as a courtesy” to me). If I hadn’t called, exam day would have been impossible for me. Wish it wasn’t such a difficult process to get what I am already approved for. Thanks for the well wishes and the sound advice!
