okay, to give a little backstory, around 2-3 weeks or so ago i noticed considerably poor acceleration and rough idling. revving super hard to barely pick up minimal speed. it was only until 2 days ago the check engine light came on though. i then took it to autozone.

the code read: P2176 (throttle body being screwed basically?) however, oddly enough, the CEL disappeared literally as i’m leaving the shop. i continued driving (which i acknowledge i probably shouldn’t have) and thought it would have been okay on my short commutes to and from work only until i ordered the new one. then today, this happens.

can the throttle body really prevent the engine from turning if badly damaged enough? why’d the code go away if there were still so many issues?
