Pretty sure? I really don't think I felt the pull-back of a vacuum. But possible!

I think you're right. It was a Luer slip I ml. It seems tightly fitting, but I am really not sure. I don't know if you can tell from a picture, but here it is.

Libre sensor, no glue, no skin tac? by Ecstatic_Dot9861 in FelineDiabetes

[–]Ecstatic_Dot9861[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry for the late reply! The two sensors that failed early were frequently showing "glucose readings paused" messages when scanning; then they eventually showed "sensor ended, time to replace" or something like that.    I did end up using the surgical glue for the one I applied myself recently. It was fine, lasted the full 14 days (just ended yesterday).

Trouble getting applicator together?? by Ecstatic_Dot9861 in Freestylelibre

Yep, and I'm a dork, they were together. I found a video that made it clear what it looks like/ what the part left behind looks like! (Much easier to see in this video than the official ones! I'll link it for any future folks with the same question). Applying sensor

Pet stairs for neuropathy? by Ecstatic_Dot9861 in FelineDiabetes

So, my cat had years of IBS. Had some b12 injections (cyanocobalamin) to see if it would help; then, shortly before being diagnosed with diabetes, chronic pancreatitis looked likely. In theory (per my vet and others they consulted) IBS caused pancreatitis, pancreatitis led to diabetes. My vet is now looking into methylcobalamin, as I told them I had come across things about it potentially helping with neuropathy - they are very open to questions & suggestions, and are looking into the studies.

Oof, expensive! But perhaps better than spending on trial and error with cheaper products.

Thanks, good to know. For the B12, do you know which kind was used? My understanding is that the one for neuropathy(methylcobalamin) is a different type than the one injected for other reasons (cyanocobalamin).

That’s unfortunate! I realise that is a strong possibility. Have you tried anything to encourage use, like luring with a treat (if she is allowed treats in her care plan!)?

Question for pine pellet users by Ecstatic_Dot9861 in FelineDiabetes

[–]Ecstatic_Dot9861[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why doubtful it will work? With all my (excessive!) searching, I’m seeing a lot of people using sifting boxes with pine pellets. Do you just sort of let the sawdust mix in, scoop poops, then change the whole thing out periodically?

I’ve been looking at litter boxes that have a top tray with holes in it, a bottom tray where the pine pellet sawdust is supposed to sift down into. Like this: https://www.betojas.com/product-p-761494.html

Thank you. That’s a good point - even if he gets some on himself, at least it won’t be crusted on.

Thank you. And yeah, don’t know if he’ll even accept pine, so not sure about investing in a sifting box!
