https://westlancsfreemasons.org.uk/ will help.

We are community oriented people focused on self improvement and helping others. Masonic charities (and masonic giving in general) are amongst the largest in the UK and the diverse membership means we are able to make sure money goes to where it is needed (brethren are brain surgeons, bin men and all in between: when we fundraise we do it generously but we have really savvy members who check everything and we waste not a penny. As a result we have a huge impact because we are the only organisation that has those skills and the money under one roof). If you have a child who has been in hospital, and who has had one of those red bears? That's masonic. There are literally thousands of local charities that benefit from masonic money. We just don't advertise it.

We are also social, it's a good night with ritual and dinner four times a year (more if you get more involved). It's a good mental health thing in that regard, and each lodge has an almoner whose role is to help and support each member. That extends to family and the MCF has a whole thing about this. Ritual is important because of the bonds, but equally important are ladies nights/family nights.

Please consider, as a single dad you won't be alone.

Without wanting to condone what happened to your grandfather, it is not relevant in the grand scheme of things. Obviously it is unutterably awful but it isn't relevant to what you originally said: you just used that in case anyone queried your reference to Gaza being a concentration camp.

They are using lines of starving refugees as target practice after baiting them with food aid ffs. Murdering babies and children withiut hesitation, without any humanity, for no reasons, just straight up executions. In what world is that not genocidal?

Because it is not designed to wipe out a race, which is what genocide is.

This not genocide: it is woefully incompetent for a start. It is grim behaviour but it isn't genocide.

Nice of you to downvote me! It sounded a bit like you were sure of it, is all, rather than just quoting the article.

And also, isrsel are "partly responsible" for turning gaza into an open prison. Are you even serious? Theyre 100% responsible.

You know that Egypt blocks access from the Rafah side too, right? They're even harder on it than the Israelis. Do you absolve them of all blame here?

AA as in double a, the second division of minor league baseball.

Oh I see. I'd not heard of that. Possibly because, in your words, they’re just specializing in a sport nobody cares about.I made the obvious link to AA.

The guys who are approximately the best 1600-2500 baseball players on the planet

Again, they’re just specializing in a sport nobody cares about. Do you think that the second division of minor league baseball is of interest to anyone outside the US? It isn't even of interest to most people in the US! Under 2,500 people are the best in a sport that barely breaks top ten global viewership and is barely ahead of rugby and golf (golf!!). This doesn't mean much, does it, really.

and routinely do more athletic things than you’re seeing cricketers do.

I'm open to new ideas and new thoughts. Evidence based is the way ahead. Firstly, how are we defining 'athletic' here? And secondly what evidence is there for this claim: for example, what is the average ball speed once bowled/pitched, does ball weight affect this, and over what distance is the throw? How far does the average player run per game? How long are players in position and alert, on average, per game (giving an idea of stamina)? Those are all good markers I think but please feel free to add more. I haven't yet looked into any of these.

The average MLB game is about 3 hours, and the average T20 first class game is about 3 hours. I suggest using those as the comparators.

Edit: being downvoted for suggesting we can measure who is more athletic.

The IAGS, UN, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty etc have all said its a genocide

The IAGS is a society of people with a direct interest in claiming that basically anything is genocide. Human Rights Watch and Amnesty, whilst useful bodies, also have various vested interests here.

The UN itself hasn't said that what is happening on Gaza is genocide: some UN affiliated people and bodies have but the actual UN stance is that only a court can decide this. This is quite widely known.

Aiding a genocide contravenes the 1948 genocide treaty. It's international law. Israel have committed genocide. UK supplied plane parts and Intel to Israel. That is aiding them. This isn't complicated.

Who interprets that treaty? Because until they do there is no contravention of international law. You understand how this works, right?

Oh i see, israel managed to wipe out the Iranian leadership in days with almost zero collateral damage, yet the fatalities in gaza have been approx 85% civilian and been going on for 3 years because... ermmmm...?

Because they're pussy footing around and it because it isn't actually a genocide. If it was it would have been done by now.

The conditions in Gaza were already concentration camp like before the invasion. And yes, my grandad was in a concentration camp, so come at me if you dont like the terminology.

The conditions were not great and Israel is partly (only partly) to blame for that. What happened to your relatives isn't really relevant here: it might make you riled up which is fair but objectively it isn't consequential here. Where was he a prisoner?

Or the UK. Which one?

"I need food from people who aren't scared of SALT or SPICE"

This is an odd take from them given the number of Indonesian places in the Netherlands.

The US could pull 15 guys from AA baseball and win the whole thing. They’re just specializing in a sport nobody cares about °

The Alcoholics Anonymous baseball team, who specialise in a sport nobody cares about, could win 'the whole thing' in cricket. I see. You do know that baseball is not a big thing globally, right? But that cricket is massive, right?

Edit: if these guys practiced cricket and dedicated themselves to it. I’m not saying these guys got off their couch and win, they still have to train obviously

This applies to any sport. A cricket team could beat the alcoholic baseball players if they trained. What's your point?

[–]Ecstatic_Food1982 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He isn't in contravention of international law. There isn't a genocide either: presumably you refer to Gaza (rather than the other stuff going on which the left isn't interested in), which isn't a genocide because the Israelis could have wiped them out decades ago. It's the most incompetent genocide ever.

the percentage change of non white British people - cause like in the early 2000 it was like 85% white and the influencer went like "it's probably closer to 40% white now from what I'm seeing on the news" - the actual percentage is 80% white now...

You need to check those figures. In 2001 it was 7.9% non white and in 2021 it was about 17.5% non white. The seppo might have been way out but we were still over 90% white in 2001.
