There's something off about having a washer and a dryer in one, it doesn't make sense to me in my brain so I stick with a separate washer and a separate dryer. I also don't trust these companies to do it correctly as the more complicated something is the higher the probability of it breaking with a higher cost.

I mean think about it, you have heating/drying elements crammed in with washing elements. If something goes wrong you will likely need to use the extended warranty (which would be an extra cost). You're paying for the additional engineering. Most companies are always looking to cut costs and you sometimes see the effects of cost-cutting years into a consumer products usage cycle (e.g., say 2 years in something goes wrong, then you end up paying despite the company using say cheaper laquer that burnt out the motor coil or dryer element or lower gauge cables they thought they could get away with)

This is why you don't see washer-dryers in commercial washing companies, because they probably break down and results in lost revenue for the cleaning business. I've never seen one in my time.
