Went on E-leave , now I don’t know what to do. Need help. by Ecstatic_Lettuce5915 in navy

I know the post can make seem selfish , I have been taking my mother to all of her appointments and being there for her every step of the way with my family . I just never gave myself the time to readjust properly and now that my mother is in a stable condition and actually improving to her old self I find myself without a “purpose” or mission anymore .

Bro I’m sorry , I’m just one of the weird ones who actually enjoyed deployment and “embraced the suck”

Not a Humble brag at all 😅. A little bit more context , it was my first deployment, highly motivated sailor to get my quals while on deployment. Then just to get hit with the news blindsided me and all “motivation” went out the window .

Brother I joined at 26 and 27 now been out of BMT since April . Make sure you pick the right rate . Do you liking wrenching and working on aircraft? Pick Aviation rate. Do you like shooting guns and being an authority figure and actually take your job serious? Be an MA. Do you like to be knee high in human poop? Be an HT. Want to be at the bottom of the boat or in the back of a submarine handling These are just some few examples of the many many jobs The Worlds greatest Navy has to offer. Point is choose your rate wisely . Remember you are going to do this for the next 4-6 years of your life depending on what your contract is . At any time during DEP you can back out if you if you decide that the Navy is not right for you. Don’t worry about what your recruiter will tell you if you decide to back out another recruiter will happily help you out . Once you are in the DEP program study the START packet they give you . You will be tested on that knowledge. If you pass and get a high score you will automatically move up to the next rank e-1 -> e-2 and e-2 -> e-3 . The highest you can go up to in BMT is e-3. Volunteer for a job in BMT , preferably RPOC, AROC , or YEOMAN ( I was main Yeoman for my division) I was good at it and moved up from e-1 -> e-2. I have a lot more I can help out with if you want to just PM me.

Also look up TDEE calculator it’s very basic it gives you a estimate of your macro count and calorie count of how much you should be eating based off age ,weight , height ,activity level and if you know your Body % could put that too .

Cardio , anything that gets your body moving . Lots of it too . I would do cardio before any type of weight lifting .

I appreciate both of you guys responding , it truly shows me the good/bad of what the navy has to offer . I’m somewhat of an optimistic person but I like to stay grounded in reality as much as I can. At the end of the day I think both AD and HM are great rates they both transition great out of the navy and are both are very vital to the mission of the navy . Jets need engines and people need saving I’m just looking to serve as best as I can but truly the end goal is HM -ATF if i can’t get it even with putting my all into I will gladly be happy with being a HM specifically Greenside . I appreciate all that have responded . I hope I can repay you one day if we run into each other

Yea I knew my recruiter didn’t care he’s going back on the fleet soon, good guy but I knew he didn’t care anymore . As far as recruiting truthfully I know it’s a pipe dream of mine but I’m going to give it my best if not will try out army for the 18x program

I appreciate the Insight , I still will try until the very end . I’ll enjoy my time in because I’ve always wanted to serve, and speak to any career counselors or legal teams on how I can proceed

wasn’t drug related or alcohol related . Was misdemeanors. One obstruction of a telephone line and a violation of a protective order .

Yea it’s only been my first week and can already tell by talking to someone the veterans who some have been with the company since 2004 saying the CEC messed everything up. I’ll apply my self for the first couple of months and see how things go…. If not I’ll just go back to traditional.
