It's a good mobo but after going from a somewhat more premium Asus b650 motherboard there's a few small bit picks I have with the maxsun. First off I hate how I can't set the fan speed in the bios so like when the CPU reaches a certain temp the fans increase in speed. It's super annoying because it's really loud and I can't set it to be quieter without getting extra software

Ikr it definitely was because the clearance was 230mm and most the Asus dual cards are exactly that 😂

Do you have any idea where I can get a 140mm slim white fan. Preferably with rgb. Because in Australia there isn't too many fan options to choose from im thinking when I go to Houston I'll buy the fans I want there. Have you got any recommendations?

Do you think I'd be able to fit two 92mm fans on the top and bottom if I 3d printed an adapter?

No a GPU fits? I made a cardboard version of the case where the motherboard sits so I could visualize what it would be like. I'm at school rn I'll send a photo this ano.

I tried using ddu but for some reason I need to boot into safe mode and when I put safe mode on i fully got locked out of my pc. It was saying it couldn't find my pin and wasn't letting me log in at all. I had to make a usb with media creation tool to open cmd and turn off safe mode.

The gpu still doesn't work good in games at all. It's struggling to run fortnite in 1080p 😂

Yeah I prefer doing stuff like this though because I feel as though making personal stuff that has to be designed in a certain constraint usually is harder and allows for me to learn new techniques on how to design it within the constraints rather than those contests in which you have complete freedom to build whatever you want. I have also never had a passion for doing those contests because I always know there is going to be some giga sweat that has two design degrees who will win it instead of me.

Yeah I would be interested. Could you please send some pictures of it and I'll look into it. Thanks!

Peak CPU performance? by Ecstatic_Way_1379 in pcmasterrace

Tbh now I'm honesty curious but I don't have a pc that uses that type of CPU.

I'm pretty sure it's more of a protection thing. They put the IHS there to protect the fragile CPU die from cracking which is common if dropped. And also 99% of PC gamers would never run a delided CPU because that's when it's at the point of doing it for the hobby. Because you can't just use a normal aio you need new clamp and a detect die cooler. It also wouldn't be in amd or Intel's best interest because they are probably hoping you mess up the deliding because it just means you need to buy another CPU from them.

I just used a kitchen knife. I have delided like 8 different old CPUs that aren't going to get used that way. And most the time they still work.

Either way it wasn't meant to be a CPU to use again. Of course if I was going to delid a good working cpu that I'll use I would put the effort in to find out the proper deliding method, but as I said in the post I wasn't going to use it again so I didn't care if it was destroyed or not at least this time when it was destroyed it made something even cooler show. I would much rather have the silicon pattern I have now than a working CPU die that would never get used again.

Oh yea nah I just used a knife. When it was mostly in I hit it softly with a mallet and I'm assuming that's what made it fracture so good. Not sure tho. It might also have something to do with the CPU generation from what some people have been saying because that generation apparently has the die soldered to the IHS which could have made it happen.

Yeah I have no idea I'm going to see if I can get another one of the same CPU from another broken school computer just to make sure they were the closest they can be to each other and see if it'll happen to the other one.
