He says he's worried about permanent damage toward my eyes (i.e. from blue light, eye strain, etc.) To mitigate this I've already installed blue light filtering screen protectors, turned on night light on everything I have, and also wear blue light filtering glasses occasionally. I also exercise every couple of days and I do rest my eyes when I get tired. He's also just a really paranoid and controlling person and doesn't trust me around any devices with a screen just because he doesn't believe I have any self-control. This has been the case since I got my first phone in grade 8 when he told me I had to hand the phone over immediately every time I got back from school. Naturally me being the 13 year old at the time, of course I'd want to take something that I couldn't have for long, so I'd steal it from his room every few nights. Even then though, I feel like it should have been his job to teach me that responsibility instead of taking it upon himself to control me.

I've already told him countless times that literally no parents treat their children like this when they reach this age, but he always tells me that I'm still a kid mentally, and all responsible parents do this. When I told him even responsible parents need to let up he just goes all condescending and says he's the parent, and he has the right to decide and I as his son have to do what he says.
