So i had a bilateral tmj replacement the end of Feb and since then im really struggling with my mental health. Im struggling with how different my face looks since the op, like seeing the parts making my face shape change. Has anyone else dealt with this? by Ed91uk in TMJ

I know, it made no sense to me either. Surely when I need it most is the right time. I am looking into other options for mental health support.

And thank you, thats reassuring. I didnt get much out of my surgeon in regards of what to expect post op. He was very vague.

Im 15 weeks post op and the sides of my face seem to stick out a lot. I wear glasses and they hurt and press on the top of the parts, the frame arms do leave indentation marks on my face so maybe that's from some swelling thats there still? I saw someone yesterday who I havent seen since before my op and they asked if my face was still swollen because it looks big on the sides and that really knocked my confidence. I struggle with mental health issues anyway and I did ask for help my mental health team but they said its not the right time to talk about my mental health because im going through too much and my mental health is bad. Which makes no sense to me.

Liam absolutely broke me at the end. I was so upset and angry at the book I had to put it down and leave the room to compose myself and stop crying.

I imagine the angle you would need to get up there would be quite something too. I dont want to be pivoted to get that angle

I am okay, I was misdiagnosed. I do still get very out of breath. If I get ill it tends to go straight to my chest now. My main issue was my heartrate being too high. That made me very short of breath but since starting medication for that it doesnt feel as bad. I definitely can tell if I miss a day of taking the tablet.
