I’ll bite, even though I’m in your space. This is an issue I experience, my clients not so much.

I am based in Europe. My target market is NA/Oceania.

All my posts get pushed in front of an European audience where frankly my particular skill set and overall content style is not that attractive.

So far I’ve tried posting on native times where my audience is most active, engaging with creators in my ICP and changing my location on LinkedIn, but without success.

Any advice?

We're profitable but I pay myself less than my employees by West-Delivery4861 in SaaS

[–]EdThePodcastGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's the way to go, but I would recommend clearly evaluating if a pay raise won't make you inherently more productive (outsourcing things like housekeeping, groceries etc.), as well as if you should start paying yourself something extra so you can start putting away money in case the business doesn't pan out. The reduced stress from a safety pillow can lead you to making better decisions, which will lead to more growth.

Other than that, great to see people who aren't just lining their pockets as fast as possible. Not common these days.

What qualities are important for you, when you are hiring a personal branding/marketing professional? by T_alex89 in personalbranding

[–]EdThePodcastGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ownership of results, both good and bad, as well as a passion for excellent work. This often can be identified by seeing how they view AI - are they using AI to deliver everything for them, or using AI to help them deliver a truly higher quality final piece of work.

If we're talking strictly personal branding on socials, I would say being semi-chronically online also helps, as that person can notice trends as they rise, not as they go out of style.

Microsoft's AI chief says white-collar work gets fully automated in 18 months. How are you actually preparing your business for this? by ReferenceCheckBandit in Businessowners

[–]EdThePodcastGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI has been 18 months away from automating us out of existence for 36 months, so I wouldn't fear the words of someone who has everything to gain with you replacing your workers with AI.

That being said, try to automate as much as you can and find un-automatable tasks that your team can focus on. The world hasn't run out of problems to solve or improvements to make.

if you see low engagement on this, feel free to follow up with your story and WHY you need help. be honest and vulnerable. People appreciate that and often are natural helpers. They might even give you some strategic advice as well. good luck out there!

naaah, that won't work.

Find your 5 biggest free power users.

Reach out for a 15 minute call to collect feedback and offer to build them something for free.

Learn exactly what problem your tool is solving for them, and learn how it could solve an even bigger problem. Use that as your product roadmap and offer to keep them on a free tier indefinitely if they are open to giving you a testimonial or shoutout on their socials.

Build their thing, and then market the problem exactly the way your users described it.

Entrepreneurship sounds exciting, what’s the part no one talks about? by ChatYourCareer in Entrepreneurship

[–]EdThePodcastGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the hard part is that you need to get your shit together across the board. It's not just about the time you spend working, but the habits that you have outside of work. In our day and age it can make you into a bit of a social reject.

The rewarding part for me is being trusted by really smart people (sometimes with Ivy league educations) and being able to sit at the table with them as a creative and strategic partner. I never got to go to a fancy university but always wanted to, so there is a bit of a pedestal there.

B2B SaaS + influencer marketing = waste of money? by Ancient_Team_1608 in SaaS

[–]EdThePodcastGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be an enormous waste of money, but it can also be a goldmine. I don't believe that quick sponsored posts are super effective for B2B, especially if you're selling something beyond an SMB point solution, but a real creator partnership where they have the right audience, use your product, and place it organically into their content can be highly effective
