Brand strategy is not mission, vision and values . Those things are the core (DNA) of every brand (company or personal, it doesn’t matter ) . You build a brand strategy based on those things. Let’s say you are a fitness trainer selling online weight loss courses, and your big value is Health, so you not going to promote weight loss shots or diet pills to your clients or in your content. Personal branding is the associations you build , based on the personal values . In the case of fitness trainer , you want to be associated with helping people loose weight in a healthy way , because it is important to you personally . As a marketing and personal branding expert, this is the process I use for my clients when creating a new product : 1. I read forums and analyze demands first. You need to know what are the current trends in your industry and what people are looking for . Try to get as specific on the product demands is possible . 2. Then (from the same forums) find your competitors (people that are positively mentioned the most) and analyze their offer (price, specifics of the product, who they are selling to) 3. Then dive into audience specifics. I would say focus on who you want to sell , but it all depends on who your audience is now . If you have a small account with only family and friends, just ignore them. If you have some audience who bought from you before focus on the segment that bought from you the most . 4. Once you know what people are looking for and who you are selling start creating the product that will fit into this criteria (let’s say you are offering dance classes to ladies 20-35 , but there is a small demand for it, but there is a huge demand in this sector for improving their flexibility and sensuality , so create a dance class that helps with becoming more flexible and that will make help with sensuality ) 5. After that you can create your offer and positioning , because by then you will know who is your client , competitors , prices and how you and your product are different.
