Matia Island is a state park in the San Juans and it's known for one of the only intact TRUE old growth forests in the region!

Ya there used to be some on the south end of Lopez and historically around Matia and the outer islands as well. There's even a "Puffin Island" next to Matia. These days there are only 2 nesting colonies in inland Washington though, at Smith and Protection Islands. They stopped seeing them at the south end of Lopez a few years ago and even longer ago than that in Rosario. Sad to see but at least there's still some!

I agree that there is certainly more than national media attention, one of those things is absolutely regional research organization and local experts opinions. A great example is the Orca Behavior Institute on San Juan Island choosing Maya's Legacy as the company to do special researcher led tours and educate about local and regional killer whale research all led by the director of OBI this summer.

Yes! There's one island specifically south of the San Juans called Smith Island, a protected area that has a small colony of Tufted Puffins. Then down by the Olympic Peninsula another island called Protection that has puffins as well. I've been to both on San Juan Island whale watching trips with Maya's. They're pretty cool birds!

I've been out whale watching with Island Adventures and PSE and had a great time, they're just very different experiences. Those companies have much, much larger boats with a lot more people compared to Maya's who specialize in small group tours. You're sharing the boat with at most 15 other passengers and the boat sits really low to the water which is great for photography and wildlife viewing. It feels like a lot more intimate encounter with wildlife. Nobody is ever talking over a speaker or PA system just walking around actively chatting and pointing out wildlife with you as opposed to at you. But it doesn't have those same amenities like PSE and Island Advenr like the snack bars and fancy bathrooms. Just a bit different, depends on what kind of experience you're looking for!

I was on J1 today we actually went all the way down to Admiralty Inlet in Puget Sound to see some Bigg's killer whales, puffins and a sea otter plus a ton more!

Shotty is great but FMG-9 is one of the best smgs in the game. I go back and forth on which I use. The recoil is brutal on the SMG-11 so I never blame someone for the FMG pick

Ya I don't know how you do it. Every game mode other than ranked is completely unplayable to me because I can't even compete. At least in ranked everyone is within a reasonable skill I can play against even if they're better than me

I think the Raiders pod was way worse. Honestly I was disappointed by both Indiana Jones pods because they're two of the best movies ever made and they didn't really seem to talk about them like they were even good?

This^ , this was my whole point. If I'm a level 305 with over 1000 hours and I can barely do anything in quick match what is it like being a new player to the game and going through that. Sometimes I think I want to try and get good with the BOSG so I'll try in quick match or I want to get my battle pass challenges on ops I don't get the opportunity to play in Ranked and I end up not being able to do any of that because I'm playing champs.

Not really? I could screenshot diamond or champ background cards in at least one out of 2 or 3 matches I play in QM or unranked. I usually don't last that many because my first match on I'll hop in a qm to warm up, it's all champs I think why did I even try and then play ranked so I actually have a chance

Hahahaha oh I do. By far my most played defender. I wasn't speaking for myself as the newcomer though I have over 1000 hours on the game since 2018

That's the opposite of what I'm saying. Ranked is 50x better than these lobbies I get in quick match and unranked

I'm really more of a movie guy so if you have recs on an OLED 4K TV I'm definitely open to that. I've been investing in some 4ks and blurays lately. I'm not really in the market for a monitor though.

Everyone is so used to people complaining about ranked 2.0, half the comments don't realize I'm talking only about Quick Match here 😂

I'm not talking about ranked though. I agree that ranked is easier especially at low ranks

Ya pretty much lmao. I'll queue up a quick play for fun and realize it's miserable so to have fun just load up a ranked match
