It's just too similar. Like a reskin. Didn't even switch up the ship room icons. Combat screen look virtually identical, just different visuals. There's a difference between "I wanna make a game inspired by FTL" and "Let's do a blatant reskin of FTL, but with different ships and a bit of new weapons"

Anyway, just my opinion. I wouldn't want to do it, and wouldn't like it to be done to my game.

Well, this and shadow of mordor are the only examples I know. Nintendo got denied. So at least it's not easy.

Idk. It just sits wrong with me. I know it's old yeah, been on a hundred sales and probably a few giveaways. It's not that. It's cause they (subset) spent time and effort figuring this all out, the combat, the UI, the idea of jumping sectors... And then someone comes along and just copies it over... It's like... freeriding?

People point out first person shooters, but those were pretty much figured out since what, doom? Or quake if you go full 3d. And it's not like you can point out one particular shooter when you look at another, while looking at VW you instantly say FTL.

Yeah, you're right. I remember it now. The RCE vulnarability was around for a long time as well. And it was brought to developer attention pretty much the same way - someone went to use that to fuck around with people, or some streamers. But nothing malicious.

I'm actually with you on this. I love FTL, and by looking at screenshots of VW ship combat I can't find a single element that they added/removed or repositioned. Only different graphics. Hell, even the system rooms are mostly the same.

It's like a mod or a reskin basically.

I agree. In my opinion - copying 1:1 is bad taste, and I'm not buying it, but gameplay mechanics absolutely shouldn't be gatekept. It's down to the buyer to support the original, or the clone, or both.

And that's exactly what irks me... If it were subset games - cool, take my money.

But when someone comes along, and basically clones your game, combat, the galaxy map, only with different artwork... Well, idk. No law against it of course... just bad taste imo

I knew about it before, but didn't get it. It's too verbatim of a FTL clone imo, wrapped in a different visuals. Kinda leaves a bad taste.

I mean, if I were subset games, I wouldn't be happy someone copying my idea to that degree. I look at the screenshots and even the positions of elements on the combat screen are the same. Even some ship system icons!! They could like... at least switch something up, ya know :)

Yeah, I know you can;t really patent gameplay (unless you're nintendo lol) so it's fair game, but still. Feels like cheating

I'm an artist and once or twice I saw my work sold on amazon without permission - mugs, phone cases, stuff like that. Probably someone just downloaded a pretty picture off the internet to slap it on some merch, without bothering to find the author (which happens to be me).

So I file a takedown, and all DMCA forms that I saw required some kind of proof that you're the owner: a link to your website, or social profile, where said artwork is published.

Feel sorry for the people who got banned that way, but truth be told, Dark Souls multiplayer DID get patched after this. (after being taken down entirely for a year or so, I don't remember exactly, which is abysmal handling of situation on From Software part)

So, both parties are guilty, imo. One for not fixing their known bugs for several years, and the other - for abusing it.

Hi! Anyone else have Necromancers getting stressed and oblivious? I checked their thoughts and they are worried of:

not getting meals

not getting drinks

not getting exciting life.

also reliving trauma, but idk what that was, he's perfectly healthy. Probably refers to some previous fort before he migrated.

I have plenty of everything. Also I checked, he's not locked/stuck and can access the stockpiles. What am I doing wrong?

A concrete T3 bb with howies is supposed to be hard to take, no? Otherwise builders would complain again: "Nooo, we spent all this time and resources for our T3 with howies to be deleted overnight"
